Tyson Fury weight
Re: Tyson Fury weight
By the end of this year, we will know who the HW pussy is. When Fury had tonight out of the way, and AJ ends Pov, there really is no other options other than AJ, Wilder & Fury.

BBC 5 live just said Fury had 5 stones on Pianeta. And repeated it.

Ain't you a sadist
Re: Tyson Fury weight
ya, if only hed taken camp wilders approach of moving his guys career like a sloth, so then 7 years and 32 fights in aj could still vs fighting jason gavern, instead of being unified champ and having beat numerous top 10 fighters just 4 years and 20 in
finkel on 30 year old wilder 'hes just a baby, we need to take it slooow'
or maybe he shouldve taken furys approach and be fightng nobodies on undercards right now

Re: Tyson Fury weight
After Ortiz, I just feel that Fury can't hurt Wilder in neutral, only with shots that catch Wilder mid-lunge. So if Wilder doesn't stop himself with recklessness, I think he stops Fury.
Wilder's almost as rangy, has no glaring stamina issues, and he's athletically (if not mentally) faster with a lot more power. Fury's ability mostly lies in his long-limbed defensive skills, but how many invitations can he survive against someone with natural counters to tempt a repeated offence...
Wlad aside, this'll be the only time that Fury's fought someone close to his own size who isn't a plodder. It'll be interesting to see how well his tricks work.
[edit]
I'll say this for Fury: he might look highly vulnerable at times, but he has very good anticipation. I've seen fighters with excellent reflexes and bundles of fast-twitch fibres reacting late to shots, and a lot of people think that those guys are the least hittable because of their Matrix impressions. Whereas sometimes you can look slow as eff to the crowd but the other guy can't catch you, because you're seeing his shots in time to avoid rapid evasions.
The greatest in history tend to have both attributes, so they can put themselves in positions that the fast-of-mind might be too slow-footed to, and the fleet-footed too slow-of-mind to. It's not foregone that Wilder wins this, but I still favour him massively on account of Fury's relative lack of offence. All else roughly equal, when one fighter gets a lot more opportunity to unload it's a numbers game. Fury has to hope that Wilder's as readable as he looks when he's launching.
Until he gets a bit older or loses, my suspicion is that Wilder's sheer athleticism makes him a fierce handful for anyone. Joshua's the best all-rounder for my money, but that mightn't be enough for him to retire undefeated.
AJ-Pov and Wilder-Fury is great news, though! Conclusion next year, hopefully.

Re: Tyson Fury weight
It was odd that 6ft 7in Wilder was as tall (if not taller) than the 'purportedly' 6ft 9in Fury when they were face to face in the ring.
Even allowing for Wilder wearing trainers/Fury wearing boxing boots, Fury isn't 6ft 9in.

Re: Tyson Fury weight
Fury's a solid 6'7" and maybe an inch taller. He's also within two stones of Wilder in tip-top shape.
Wlad and Joshua are both strong 6-5ers from what I've seen, but carrying more muscle. I'd be pretty amazed if Wilder isn't fitter than Joshua.

Re: Tyson Fury weight
Fury height was 6'8 3/4" last night on the credits.
Re: Tyson Fury weight
There’s a picture kicking about on line of Fury and David Price together. Fury has bad posture in the photo but he definitely looks smaller than Price, who is 6’8 tops
Re: Tyson Fury weight
earlier on in his career fury was listed at 6'7, then they just seemed to suddenly start saying he was 6'9 and hyping that up a bit
of course hes obvs very tall still though

Re: Tyson Fury weight
We had the Fury height debate in the run up to the Wlad fight when Wlad apparently appeared as tall as Fury in some face offs.
They then started boxing and Fury looked huge compared to Wlad.

Re: Tyson Fury weight
fury could be something like 6'7.5 and still be a few inches taller then wlad. wlad himself claims 6'5 and was also clearly shorter then wilder and helenius in training pictures next to each other
fury was in the ring with wilder after wilder stopped szpilka, so wilder would be in flat boxing shoes, and they were still about the same height.most important thing is that however tall fury is, its hardly much taller then wilder.

Re: Tyson Fury weight
I noticed that in the interviews that Fury appeared to be looking up to Ronald, so how tall is that fukker?
Re: Tyson Fury weight
Wlad wears lifts. It sort of backfired for Fury though because Wlad obviously got used to being eye to eye with Fury and then, like you said, got in the ring with him and realised he was a huge fornicator.jameswilson wrote: ↑19 Aug 2018, 19:35 We had the Fury height debate in the run up to the Wlad fight when Wlad apparently appeared as tall as Fury in some face offs.

Re: Tyson Fury weight
BIG John Fury has repeatedly claimed he is 6ft 9in, are you saying a father doesn't know his own sons true height?

Re: Tyson Fury weight
My dad doesn't know my height.
Young Fury was in the ring with Tyson after the fight, and I know from experience that he's around 6' and not his listed 6'3". That security guy who looks like Mark Williams (Fast Show) and Big Ron are two genuine 6-9ers in boxing.

Yeah, there's that well-known photo with Tyson tiptoeing a bit:

Photoshopped (very roughly) for something closer to reality:
