BT seem overly keen to get on the ppv gravytrain with this one. Not a ppv for me.
I also think it's a mismatch. I underestimated Warrington & surprised he got the win last time out, but i gitta go with Frampton here, a level or 2 above Warrington.
not a mismatch for me, frampton was barely better then quigg, struggled with garcia, down twice vs that mexican in the us (who died way too early , ) hurt multiple times by faded donaire
he might be better then war and grab a decision but honestly ive never thought of him as being this special fighter a lot seem to think, he has too many issues with b level opposition for that, wouldnt surprise me at all to see a 115-113 /116-113 type fight

The question is where.
Last nights stadium was small Elland Road wouldn't be suitable.
Manchester Arena ? 1 hour drive from Leeds. 1 hour flight from Belfast.
10,000 Frampton fans come over for the Quigg fight and loads would go down from Leeds.
You would need a lot of police inside the venue though.
That's what I was thinking. I know it's hypocritical as a boxing fan to say a fight is happening too quick. But this one is a summer fight surely in a stadium. Warrington did 20k or whatever in last fight as has Frampton so together it's gotta be a 30k plus attendance seems an odd one to have therefore in the MEN in front of 18k or whatever.

I see BT are going down the Sky route of putting any half decent fight on PPV!
Aye and I bet Wazza doesn't get anywhere near the grief Fast Car gets
I love the way the hardcore fans are tonguing Frank's farter like he's the real No1 promoter and the polar opposite of Hearn despite 95% of his promoting career suggesting otherwise, infact I'd imagine the only reason he's putting Fury in with Wilder is to piss off Eddie
People praising Warren for easily getting the fight made must forget that Fury holds a lot less aces in negotiations than Joshua does so will have to accept a much smaller piece of the pie than AJ
Also is there even any terms agreed for both the fights that were announced last night?? Dangerous move from Bunny, hopefully theres no shennanigans

Nah, I think any residual goodwill towards FW has pretty much disappeared now it’s clear BN is going down the pan. His BT shows have been just as poor as Matchroom’s recent offerings, and reintroducing PPV is a further kick in the teeth for boxing fans.
I actually reckon Eddie is going to become more popular as a result; whilst his output over the last 12 months or so has been disappointing, at least he’s capable of putting on big shows and his cards never completely fall apart like FW’s.

Yeah apart from Selby v Warrington BT has been poor this year. It was really good last year though.

Yup, former feather champ Cobrita Gonzalez's oldest son, wasn't he? I too thought the lad had a bright future after seeing him push Frampton like that, he rattled him on several occasions apart from the knockdowns, too.
I expect Frampton will control the majority of the first half of the bout. Maybe 5 of the first 6 rounds, and he'd certainly be able to manage 2 or 3 more before it's over.
Warrington will probably take the last 3 rounds or so, but I don't think it'll be enough.

The MEN wouldn't be wise especially if have Manchester and Salford fighters on the undercard, with 10000 Leeds there you'd have no end of problems in the arena and all round the city centre

I didn't think Warrington had a chance against Selby, he is much better than I thought, big and strong at the weight too and very fit.
It was definitely an eye opener for me as well. There was nothing really wrong with Selby, Warrington was just better- and I never expected it. When it was over, my first thought was how Josh would do against Carl. So happy now we get to find out

I also thought that Selby would beat Frampton too if they fought. Therefore does this mean that I think Warrington will beat Frampton!
I don't know, I'm all confused!

People's memorys are very short and the desire to dislike whoever the no1 promoter at the time is can overthrow sense.
I bet a lot of people forget that Warren announced a fight between Chisora and Malik Scott years back. There was a full on press conference and hours after Malik Scott's promoter or manager tweeted to say they were annoyed and explicitly said not to announce any fight officially until something had been done on their end. As it was that fight went down the sh1t pan. A bit like the smug interview Warren and his son did saying they have found this genius loophole to do Sky PPV without the need for Eddie Hearn to be involved. All the usual suspects at the time were giving it 'ohhhhhhhh they have done Eddie here.' The long and the short of it is in the end they never put on a Sky PPV show, thus proved absolutely nothing other than they know how to make a fight that will fall through.
Likewise you go further back and have Warren, Hatton and Maloney touching hands in a circle and the usual suspects were all saying 'waheyyyy this is gonna be the end of Hearn!'
Personally I will believe Wilder v Fury is a done fight when I see both guys touching gloves.
Good fight, one that Warrington must take ASAP while he is in this magnificent little peak he has found. Hopefully Frampton can rediscover his best form, like in the first Santa Cruz fight.
Warrington-Frampton In Play For Late December In Manchester
BS.com understands that Josh Warrington’s first defence of his IBF Featherweight title could be announced at a press conference next week.
A date and venue are not confirmed but we believe that the fight will go ahead at the Manchester Arena in late December and will be shown live on BT Sports pay-per-view channel. The stumbling block appears to be the date as the powers that be are looking to avoid two BT pay-per-views so close together with Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury going ahead sometime in November or December.
I think most people reasonably expected Lee Selby to comfortably box the head off Warrington but Warrington was brilliant.
Real shame he doesn't punch harder. I think Selby was also dead at the weight but take nothing away from Warrington, he rose to the challenge and his stock has quite rightly risen.
I think Frampton is on the slide and I expect Warrington to be too sharp, fast and busy and will take a points victory. I don't think either lad is a big puncher at featherweight.
Great domestic matchup. Shame it's gonna be another PPV event as this is starting to become an expensive sport for armchair fans to follow.
