Most would go for winning ugly over losing in spectacular fashion. Wilder could be a perfect foil for Fury in the build-up if Fury plays it right. I agree, it could be almost an exact replica of the Klitschko fight both in and out of the ring, but the main thing for both is getting the win and securing a rematch. In theory Fury-Wilder could leave Joshua in danger as he will have to tread water for a year, and that is always a danger in boxing in general and this division in particular.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑21 Aug 2018, 02:43If fury has his way the fight will be 10 times more boring than his fight with Wlad, which went down as the worst heavyweight title fight in history. I'm not an accountant or family member of fury's. I would rather see exciting fights than seeing him stinking out a joint for 12 rounds then acting the hard man after the fight. You'd think he starched wlad inside a round the way he goes on. In fact he put on one of he most boring displays and I would have been delighted if he lost, as I was was lewis and holyfield drew their first fight. At least you can say lewis was robbed there. Fury was fortunate to get the fight in Germany with a display like that after all his behaviour and talk pre fight.Terry Dooley wrote: ↑21 Aug 2018, 04:24Most would go for winning ugly over losing in spectacular fashion. I think Wilder will win despite losing every round in which he doesn't score a knockdown.
The more success Wilder's opponents have the more liekly they are to get KO'd. Be great to see Fury win. But both guys bring something to the sport.
Having tipped Wilder to win it's easy to imagine Fury sneaking over the finish line and winning the fight.

It was arguably his pre-fight talk and behaviour that contributed to the win. Klitschko was totally out-played by Fury.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑21 Aug 2018, 05:24I'm not an accountant or family member of fury's. I know loads of lads who drink with Tyson whenever Issac Lowe fights and they say he hardly mentions boxing.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - TBC
fury is the the better boxer for piling up points. but how sharp is he now? wilder must be at his peak, and would be a danger at any point. i think fury can outbox him, as we have seen lesser boxers do so at times. but will have to maintain maximum focus for 12, as he did against vlad.

Tyson Fury has no US boxing licence ahead of Deontay Wilder fight
Tyson Fury is not yet licensed to box in New York or Las Vegas, despite his plan to challenge Deontay Wilder, Sky Sports can reveal.
Fury, the former world heavyweight champion, would need to have an application for a licence accepted before he could fight in those states - a process which has yet to start.
Fury and WBC champion Wilder signalled their intention to meet in a grandstand bout this year but, at the moment, no date or location has been confirmed.
The consensus is that they would collide in Wilder's home country, the United States, because the fight would be a voluntary defence of his belt.
But the Nevada State Athletic Commission and New York State Athletic Commission, responsible for the two likeliest locations, have confirmed to Sky Sports that Fury has not applied for a licence.

allegedly Lets Rip At Sky Sports Boxing In 4 Point Statement
"As of today, Povetkin is not cleared by the local commission to box yet in the UK for the AJ [Joshua] PPV in 3 weeks time," Warren stated.
allegedly has stated that Anthony Joshua's next opponent - Povetkin - has yet to be granted a license in the UK.
"All 3 boxers will get licenses but this type of journalism is embarrassing, lazy, unprofessional and so poor it verges on being funny."

Yeh, they state the New York and Nevada commissions told them. What we don't know is if Sky had asked them in the first place.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑31 Aug 2018, 12:25I agree mate, but it ain't fake news, SKY are just stating a fact.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑31 Aug 2018, 12:18But he's right though.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑31 Aug 2018, 11:39

I don't understand why this fight has not been confirmed when both UK and US broadcasters issued press releases saying "It's On" two weeks ago.
Anyone know what the problem is?

well even weeks ago fury and warren were saying stuff like its been super easy to make and is pretty much done--i think fury even said its all done--and yet warren admits they dont even have a location yet? and thats after he said it would be announced last week, which it wasnt, meaning his word was incorrect
i mean, surely its understandable why some ppl would still be questioning whether it will happen this year. how often do we get fights officially announced be networks with 0 date or venue even weeks after the announcement?
clearly, this fights a bit unconvential

If it happens, it happens. None of us has the right to demand every last detail, just the right to hope it all comes through.

It’s one of the things that frustrates me with FW. He backs himself into a corner and it looks quite amateur after saying it was on and that it would be announced the following week that we still haven’t heard anything.jamamb wrote: ↑31 Aug 2018, 22:52 well even weeks ago fury and warren were saying stuff like its been super easy to make and is pretty much done--i think fury even said its all done--and yet warren admits they dont even have a location yet? and thats after he said it would be announced last week, which it wasnt, meaning his word was incorrect

They could have built up the fight just as well in Belfast without announcing ‘It’s On’!
Eddie has a lot of faults but we he announces a fight (like with AJ v Klitschko) it has actually been signed.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - TBC
I'm sure Hearn announced the date and venue for that the day after the Molina fight. That was when Wlad was ringside and they faced off.maverick23 wrote: ↑01 Sep 2018, 03:23It’s one of the things that frustrates me with FW. It's still poor both networks have said ITS ON with no date and venue. Just wait for it then announce.
If the date and venue is done then just put a press release or a tweet out. It's not rocket science.

That's how it should be done.
If there's nothing this week I would start to be concerned.
