Update on Kostya Tszyu

I signed up for the Tszyu newsletters a couple of years back and had been getting the occasional email updating on his injuries and the build up to the Hatton fight. Just came across the latest one (May 4th, 2006) while clearing out my Inbox - doesn't seem like he has any boxing issues on his mind!

Dear Tszyu Crew,

I have made the “Dancing with the Stars” Grand Final and I am so proud to be here. You have given me such tremendous fan support and have helped me get this far.

After 9 weeks of dancing it is down to two couples. I need the help of the Tszyu Crew one more time. Your voting is critical and will probably decide who wins. Each Tszyu Crew member can vote for me as many times as they like up until the beginning of next Tuesday night’s show. I know we can win.

Tyszus done in terms of been a serious champ but he'll probably throw down the gauntlet to PBF for 1 last SRL style comeback fight imo.

Mayweather will fight De La Hoya next then maybe Hatton. I don't think Tszyu would have the time to fit in to his schedule. He might fight the winner of Gatti/Baldomir though maybe.

Personally, I think he is enjoyning life to the max without boxing and can't see him coming back. Especially if Lewis is advising him not to come back as well, he is one person that he will listen to.

I don't think Floyd would fight Tszyu as although it would be an interesting match up, I can't imagine he'd get too much credit for beating a guy who is old, inactive and just coming off quitting on his stool in his most recent fight. Maybe Tszyu would be better off having a twelve round dance off against the UK equivalent of Dancing with the Stars!

Err, am I imagining things, but didn't Tszyu say in a recent interview that he was done with fighting?

He said he was enjoying himself at the moment and isn't really interested in fighting. I hope he does retire but if he decides to come back then good on him. I have heard him mention fighting Mayweather and DeLaHoya but i honestly think he is finished fighting.
