You know who else claimed to be a boxing champion? MICKEY ROURKE.... Thank Jesus for his step dad saying Rourke was a habitual liar and never fought a day in his life (as a kid-teenager) and... IRONICALLY he was also on the I AM BRUCE LEE documentary, still spitting his BULLSHIT... I guess conmen just naturally gravitate towards each other.

yeah and if I remember correctly I think he agreed with the twit from the Tv sit-com who said Ray Mancini could have taken Bruce Lee in a boxing match by pressuring him, smothering his punches going to the body and knocking him out with a left hook. LOL(Bruce Lee would have done that to him in like 47 seconds of the first round)
However Dana White,Stephan Bonnar,Gina Carino and Jon Jones all said Bruce Lee would have been a Badasss MMA fighter,
if he was alive today..

Of course they would, they got the Lee family to allow Bruce to be on their fornicating video game  so of course they'd kiss his ass big-time saying he was the best of all time. Even Gene LeBell said Lee would lose to Chuck Norris on that documentary.

That could be because Bruce Lee has been dead still for the past 43 years
but Chuck Norris is still very much alive to be able to write out a cheque to Gene LaBell for whatever.

(I always get a kick out of what Bruce Lee does to the one dude at 0;48 of the clip)
and check out the punch that John Saxon delivers at 1:27 of the clip-he could have been a Contendah !

over the years a lot of people seem to forget when Bruce Lee was at his peak of popularity (1973-74)
The HW Champion of the World was "Big" George Foreman.

Here is an early "Bruceplotation movie from 1975
GOODBYE BRUCE LEE
where they think how he may have fought a boxer.

and This is a clip from the 1977 "Bruceplotation" film THE DRAGON LIVES AGAIN.
and presumably that is suppose to be George Foreman there on the set of the filming ENTER THE DRAGON in it.

Barely. Bruce Lee died in July 73. Foreman had only been champion for 6 months.

Not sure what you are getting at.
FISTS OF FURY was released in USA in October 1971.
the made for TV movie KUNG FU ( starring David Carradine) first aired February 1972
THE CHINESE CONNECTION was released in USA in March 1972.
in October 1972 KUNG FU became a Television series.
George Foreman became World Heavyweight Champion in January.22. 1973
( the same month that ENTER THE DRAGON began filming thu March 1973)
But "Kung-Fu mania didn't really start across the USA and World until May 1973 with the release of
FIVE FINGERS OF DEATH (starring Lo Lieh)
Bruce Lee dies in Hong Kong July 1973
ENTER THE DRAGON was released in USA in August 1973
George Foreman defends the title in Tokyo Japan in September 1973.
George Foreman defends the title against Ken Norton in South America in March 1974.
RETURN OF THE DRAGON was released in USA in August 1974.
George Foreman would reigh as HW Champion up until October 1974.

I think if Bruce lee would have turned professional boxer in 1965,he probably would have fought a lot in the manner of Sandy Saddler,( a 5 ft 8 and one-half inch tall Featherweight champion)except Bruce Lee would have been more aggressive and far faster,a heavier puncher more volume and combinations.

I wonder if Price Naseem Hamed recieves any royaly checks from him for copying his dance moves ?
anyway Sugar Ray Leonard has even said he patterened his boxing style after his hero Bruce Lee
and he did well by doing it.( espically with punches like those ones at 4;02 of the clip)

Bullshit.... The bolo punch been around for a hundred years.... EVERYTHING Leonard ever did was no different than anything Ezzard Charles and others ever did.

He would have been a completely different fighter. No fluid movement perhaps? No Stamina maybe? But he did have that one inch punch taught to him by his trainer Benny the Jet I suppose. Or was it John Saxon??? :-?

Bruce Lee wasn't that popular in America until his death. All of those movies were popular in Hong Kong. Kung Fu is a bit of a non-issue because although it was inspired by Lee for Hollywood, the general public didn't know that and he was scratched from being involved in it.

It is true that Fists of Fury aka The Big Boss was released in USA in October 1971 (probably just in the larger cities)
but the real trigger for the Kung Fu craze back then was a made for TV-Movie pilot that first aired on ABC February.22.1972.

and then I remember Warner Bros. released this movie (with a heavy advertising ) which came out about a month later during March 1972 and was a 'sleeper"and the Kung Fu craze started exploding then on. ( except that it was rated "R" so you had to go with your parents to see it )
