Re: Calzaghe anouncement cancelled yet again
Well, as long as they get it right I don't care when they announce it.pm wrote:What a joke. Complete piss take.
Allan Green would mean getting it wrong though. I still hope they really surprise us and present Kessler.....
Markussen wouldn't have any chance against Calzaghe, and lately Markussen has showed himself to be very reluctant about becomming cannon-fodder for the champs (in that case - Beyer).El Raincoat wrote:July 8 is still 2 months away so maybe he'd be fit for that. Or how about your countryman Rudy Markussen that would build a possible Calzaghe-kessler fight up for you Danes !
Unless Markussen gets a very handsome offer i doubt he'd go for it. And the idea that Warren would ever make anyone a handsome offer is ridiculous.
Anyway. No loss.
Fight would be as pointless as Green or Manfredo.
Howard Eastman?
Although granted of late Howard's looked not hugely motivated and as slow as a fat bloke near a fan on a hot day.
But he's got pedigree, chin (in theory) and is known.
In fact, what am I saying, this would be an awful fight. I just still want to believe Eastman could have been class.

As an impartial onlooker I have to say we're being a tad unfair on Warren, so far on the card we have the following fights....
Calzaghe v tba
Williams V skelton 2
Ezo Mac V TBA (interim WBO fight)
Khan V TBA (likely to be a half decent fighter should he get pst his kings hall test - which is a step up considering he's had only 6 fights)
Tony Doc V Taz Jones 2 (decent first fight)
Locket V Rhodes (long awaited)
Bradley Pryce V TBA
Facey V Hall
And its going to be on uk free tv. Compare that to the upcoming Hatton ppv card... infact when was the last UK card as good as this?

And do you really think Lockett/Rhodes is gonna happen? Great if it does - in fact deserves a show on it's own - but I doubt it somehow...
