100 Grand Tournament: QUARTER FINALS ARE HERE!

Post by Crease »

The 100 grand Tournament is a newly established project in the BoxRecSim.

The 100k is a female-only competition which is - and can be seen as - the female counterpart of the MDT. It was first suggested by our Sim Brother, Mr Gilgamesh when he said the immortal phrase:
gilgamesh wrote: 22 Jun 2018, 21:02I suggest we do the $100,000 Tournament for the Women....

The $100,000 Tournament could follow the same format as the Million Dollar Tournament, only smaller.
The Group Stage could be 4 groups of 4 instead of 8 groups of 4.
And time has proven him wise, for the structure of the 100k tournament is a group stage (4 groups of 4 fighters) with the top 2 progressing through to the Quarter Finals (the last 8) and from there becomes a straight knockout competition, essentially a situation of:
you win & you're through..... you lose & you're out..... Any draws will be replayed to find a winner that same week.

All Managers should note that upon application of the tournament, they will then by legally required to see through this obligation, there can be no withdrawals, EVER!

So, have you ever wondered what one hundred thousand dollars looks like?
Image
One lucky lady warrior will see for herself...

And lastly, the victor will be awarded a guaranteed place in the end-of-season Sister Six - the most highly exclusive club in all of Simland featuring the best of the best. You won't get this ticket anywhere else.

Available women:
Filled with all managed fighters who requested to go in.

The 100K will begin shortly.

Natascha Ragosina is to fight Cecilia Braekhus until their fight will end with someone winning, but I guess, this situation will be resolved closer to the tourney, so I book the place for Ragosina.

I'm sure our fight will still go on as scheduled this week. It takes time to put these kinda things together. I doubt the 100 Grand Tournament will be getting underway in Week 18.

Surely even a fool can tell by now that questioning The Wisdom of The Brain is an exercise in futility :OhYes:

Glad to see the Tournament going down. The Women deserve a major event to sink their teeth into.

I kinda want to know exactly when it will be held, how many weeks the female season will last afterwards, if there'll also be a female Super Six and who else is going to be joining before committing to this. But I'm definitely interested.

Vonda is too tall for the tourney, and does not wish to look down upon the various participants.

Yes, she feels the short girls pain, and does not wish to make light of their lack of height.

As far as I know, it was supposed to be 25-30 weeks. Thus the tourney never made sense to me, if that holds true. Either we have this, and no Super six for them if it is 25 weeks. Or we have this and it goes right into the Super Six if it was 30 weeks. The woman's side of the matchmaking is dragging some as well.

Well will start it in Week 19 & if we need to we can shorten it to 2 groups of 4, if there is only 8 applicants... In which case, it will last five weeks.
HyacinthusTurnipseed wrote: 24 Aug 2018, 18:20how many weeks the female season will last afterwards
It will probably last 30 weeks....

The Sister Six will commence in Week 26, the winner of the 100k tournament will be guaranteed a spot. Then the other top five will make it in.

GBP is advising Vonda that this tourney is "short sighted".....and she has taken our advice, and will not be participating. She prefers to remain above the fray.

There is zero point on doing 16 fighters at this rate. Honestly, I don't see the point of it, when the Sister Six is right after. Anyhow, this is Crease's and Gil's idea, so they can figure it out.

So Halmich, Rijker, and Martin entered right? So we'd need 8 more entrants?

Wouldn't be hard to think of worthy CPU entrants.

Layla McCarter who was briefly managed by Oogiebe could take a spot, Margaret Sidoroff who fought Cecilia Braekhus to a draw could take a spot, Jane Couch who beat Vonda Ward could take a spot, Some unmanaged winners from this last week, Jisselle Salandy, Michele Aboro, and Laura Serrano could jump in

So I mean that's 6 spots. Which gets us pretty close to 16. We still have 2 openings should managers wanna sign up, but if we gotta go with CPU options these 6 make as much sense as any, and I'm sure FistofLegend or Crease could figure out who's worthy of the remaining two spots.

I don't think anybody would object to the 6 I suggested as reasonable choices to fill out the Tournament. They do at least have notable wins or results against Managed fighters.
