Declan Geraghty will meet Marco McCullough in his next fight.
The Dubliner is set to come up against the Belfast man in a few weeks’ time.
The pair have been pitted together on MTK Global’s next card in Belfast on October 5.
Geraghty had told Boxing Scene, prior to the announcement of his fight against McCullough, that he was set to return in England on the last weekend in October.
But Geraghty, returning from a ninth-round stoppage defeat against former nemesis Jono Carroll in their rematch back in June, will instead face the 28-year-old former British featherweight title challenger in a super-featherweight showdown at the Titanic Exhibition Centre, exclusively live on allegedly.
The card will be the second of MTK’s 12-date broadcasting deal with the boxing-only channel and will be topped by David Price’s return.
The former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion has been out of action since March.
I’d like to see Price try for a shot at the Brit title. I think he’s one win away from winning the Lonsdale belt outright.
If he faced Hughie Fury, would he stand a chance? I could see Fury doing his “shades of Ali” for 5 /6 rounds until Price gassed, and then stopping him.
I would really like to see Price win the belt outright though.

Yes and he has made 2, if he was to win it then he'd keep it..

Yeh I was under the same impression that he would win it outright next challenge but somebody mentioned it would have to be a mandatory for Price to win it outright.
So id guess Hughie will be vacating soon and Dave Allen just won an eliminator so if Price boxed Allen for the vacant belt then he wouldnt win it outright?

In simple terms boxers need to win four British title fights at the same weight to win the belt outright. They don’t have to be consecutive fights, one after the other. I don’t know about the finer points regarding mandatory defences or voluntary defences though.

would prefer the big guy to try that route. he can still have a winning career...doesnt always need to be the guy getting stopped at euro/world level..although even there hes had his moments.

After the bad KOs he's had its a shame to see him still fighting really. Perhaps he just needs the money. I don't otherwise see where Price's career really goes from here.
He has the option to continuously fight some low level opposition and just knock them out, which people will soon get bored of, or step up again and get poleaxed.
