We all remember Fury vs Haye, Fury vs Klitschko delayed, Fury vs Klitschko II never happening, Wilder vs Ortiz delayed, Wilder vs Povetkin, Wilder vs Whyte, Wilder vs Briggs, Wilder vs Hughie, Wilder vs Parker, Wilder vs AJ, Wilder vs Kownacki, Wilder vs Breazeale, Wilder vs Mansour and so on and on and on.

Now once again there seems to be coming up a big fight, Fury vs Wilder, but what do you think? Will it actually happen this time or not?
At the same time, nobody even questiones if AJ vs Povetkin will happen or not.

Any fight can be postponed. For either legit reason or otherwise.

But I've said from the start that Fury won't go within a continent of Wilder in 2018.

I may be wrong. It might happen in November or December.

But all these "It's On!" headlines that were blasting a week ago announcing Wilder vs Fury, have always been premature.

If no contracts were ever signed, how could they assure us that "It's On"?

Fury might have been jawing about tangling with Wilder because he desperately wanted to make countrymen Joshua and Hearn look like lightweights.

Now that push has come to shove, Fury might be having major regrets about mouthing off and simply doesn't feel that a Wilder fight is winnable at this time.

I don't agree with that. I think Fury in peak condition is a nightmare for Wilder, although Wilder will always have a puncher's chance against anyone, and his unorthodox and unpredictable style present Fury with a whole set of problems that better boxers like Klitschko and Joshua did not/would not.

The problem is of course is that although Fury is fit and has lost a load of weight, he doesn't yet (see how well past it Pianeta was able to catch him) have the sharpness, the perfect timing he's going to need to avoid Deontay's big right hand for 12 rounds. As I've said from the start across several threads, the only way Fury will get that back is by fighting serious opposition, but not as serious as Wilder. He could be ready next year but not this.

The trouble is the way Fury has been running his mouth, he's going to look pathetic if he cries off now.
I guess he can't really sink any lower in your estimation Gil, but I've a feeling your estimation is going to be shared by many that previously didn't ... if the fight doesn't go ahead.

Hearn made the right promotional decision if he wants to keep his sanity intact.

Stay away from Fury. Now it's Warren's problem.

Fury says it's on, wilder too. So why should it be off? Cause eddie hearn talks trash or boxingnews posts a clickbait article based on thin air?

Because Fury, as much as I like him, is a certifiable flake with drugs and mental health problems and some history pulling out of fights, And because NO FIRM DATE HAS EVEN BEEN SET for this one, maybe?

Just something for you to think about

I agree 100%

But fighters don't always have a realistic mentality.

I'm sure Fury believes that he can beat Wilder...but in his heart he knows that time isn't right now.

Fury will probably produce a doctor's excuse detailing some medical or physical problem that prevents him from meeting Wilder this year.

That way Fury can avoid looking like a total flake.

"Really, I wanted the fight. But the medics won't let me."

It was 99% certain a fortnight ago, a done deal last week, and an announcement was due last Sunday, so we now we can assume it's off, ..or its on.

It's definitely on, or it might be, or it might even be on and off at the same time.

More than a touch of quantum physics about this fight.

Strange how fighters can say that a fight is on, yet no one seems to want to sign a contract.

If you mean what I think you mean, you can FRO.

Personally I don't understand how anyone who professes to be a fan of boxing, (any sport) or music can be racist. It makes no sense to me.

EDIT: This refers to a racist post which has now been deleted.

Considering his first post he put on here, he is obviously 1.: an absolute idiot who hasn't the slightest clue about boxing and 2.: an absolute idiot who calls wilder's antics that of a typical "coon". I'm no native english speaker, didn't know the meaning of the word, but one look into it's translation let's me ask why that racist idiot has not already been banned.

I've probably started to doubt about the possibility of this fight. I had a crazy dream last night. I dreamt, that Klitschko announced the comeback and Fury decided to fight a rematch against him instead of Wilder. The fight was for the interim WBC title and was an eliminator for Wilder. It was an absolutely lackluster bout, even more, than the first one. But Klitschko was a bit more active, while Fury was utterly defensive. The first judge (I didn't see, who he was) scored 114-114. The second judge was Sulaiman himself, he scored 115-113 for Klitschko. The third judge was Povetkin, he scored it 63-63, cause he was scoring the most lackluster rounds as 0-0. That what my inflamed brain produced last night.
