Joshua vs. Povetkin, a mismatch or not ?
Re: Joshua vs. Povetkin, a mismatch or not ?
What do you propose then Luis in terms of weight/height divisions?

Then don't make a claim, if you can't prove it! Otherwise, it's your (unsubstantiated) claim that remains a verbal diarrhea.
Re: Joshua vs. Povetkin, a mismatch or not ?
I don't need to prove anything least of all a negative.
Enough people have picked you up on this size obsession of yours, not just me, that one might think a sentient being might wonder if maybe it was those others who were talking sense and perhaps it was me - LF - who was pontificating out of my arse.

You made a POSITIVE claim, which was that my position was solely in relation to size. That's not a negative claim, but a positive one. Ergo, you need to prove / substantiate that positive claim. If you don't / can't, then your positive claim has no soundness / credibility.
And appealing to popularity is a logical fallacy. As such, I don't follow such faulty logic.

Re: Joshua vs. Povetkin, a mismatch or not ?
You really are an irredeemable dick-head aren't you? I never said you had mentioned no other factors only that your overriding concern was that of size. You called it 'disgusting', or words to that effect that Joshua and Povetkin were allowed to compete in the same weight division.
It's noticeable that your introduction of other factors (than just size) largely followed your being challenged about how Povetkin was a mouse against a T-Rex, whereas Usyk who has always weighed less than Povetkin was perfectly big enough to destroy the T-Rex.
You forget Luis, that I know you predicted that Povetkin was far too small to trouble David Price and only changed your mind when you saw everyone else was saying Price would present Povetkin with little problem.
We all learn and our position on a subject can often shift as we process new information. It might do a complete 180. Where you're different is your position as it slowly changes from due East to due West, is that in your eyes your point of view is infallible, and remains so along every point of it's journey.
What is more you are fully prepared to waste hours and pages expounding on your point so it becomes tedious and exasperating and people begin to ignore you.
Luis you need to learn to let it go. Now would be a great time to start while I still retain some semblance of sanity. This is the last thing I'm going to say on the subject so if you want to pat yourself on the back for having won the argument, go right ahead and enjoy the illusion.
P.s. I'll be shocked if anyone else is even bothering to read this

Since you didn't ask me that question I'll answer it snyway. I propose scrapping of the antiquated and illogical weight classifications they have now and replacing it with a system based on logic, percentage increments from one weight class to the next.
Size is, of course, based on weight, not height, arm length, shoe size, hat size, etc. Weight.
Re: Joshua vs. Povetkin, a mismatch or not ?
FFS why did you have to mention 'hat-size' - you wanna start him off on a new one?

I can't believe I've read all this thread.
LuisFernando, have you any self-awareness?
You talk way too much and lose any impact of your own points, appearing self obsessed in your own writing.
Instead of writing 'ergo' every post to appear intelligent, look up 'succinct'.

Re: Joshua vs. Povetkin, a mismatch or not ?
Thats fair enough I completely get that and agree with you. Was just intrigued by Luis' breakdown. I know he gets a bit of grief so was just trying to get his weight/height classes outlined so I could try and understand.Since you didn't ask me that question I'll answer it snyway. Oleksandr Zakhozhyi (8-0, 6 KOs), Petar Milas (12-0, 9 KOs), Wladimir Katsuk (amateur), Daniel Dubois (8-0, 8 KOs) and Vladyslav Sirenko (9-0, 8 KOs). And of course Povetkin.

Thats really Povetkin? He looks like a little welterweight in that picture. I dont think thats really Povetkin, or it is some sort of optical illusion, because in reality he is not that much smaller than those guys.

Yes it's Sasha. He looks soo small because of perspective on this photo but also those guys are just really bigIlya Muromets wrote: ↑31 Aug 2018, 07:39 Thats really Povetkin? He looks like a little welterweight in that picture.
Re: Joshua vs. Povetkin, a mismatch or not ?

Here Povetkin with Kownacki and Teper. He is shorter but also... He's just in shape, he doesnt carry useless fat.

Re: Joshua vs. Povetkin, a mismatch or not ?
I edited my comment above. Yes there must be something off in the perspective. He looks like he weighs about 150 pounds in that photo.dagilechia wrote: ↑31 Aug 2018, 07:45Yes it's Sasha. Zakhozhyi, Milas, Dubois and Sirenko are just much closer to the camera and it makes Povetkin look so small

Thats a more realistic photo. He's standing by two big men. Kow is 6 '3 260, Teper 6'5 250 lbs.dagilechia wrote: ↑31 Aug 2018, 07:49

I was thinking of him when you said about Povetkin not carrying any fat. I think Luis said if he lost the flab he could make light-heavyweight
Disclaimer: I'm pretty sure that was what he said (not in those exact words) but if I've got that wrong then I am not a liar, I am merely mistaken (as well as being not sufficiently arsed to verify my claim

Re: Joshua vs. Povetkin, a mismatch or not ?
You are right - that's what he said (Povetkin is a blown up LHW, had he lost the fat he could make LHW limit etc). Believe me or not i have readed all of his posts! (and i'm not going to make this mistake againcandyslim wrote: ↑31 Aug 2018, 15:18I was thinking of him when you said about Povetkin not carrying any fat.
