Frazier's title fights with Mathis, Ramos, Zyglewicz, Ellis, Foster and Ali all exist as live calls in beautiful mint condition. So where's the original tape of his first fight with Quarry? It seems only to be available as a low res, poor sound VHS copy of a copy of a copy. Is it not a fight that gets broadcast on ESPN Classic? Has it gone missing?
Similarly, why is his big title defence against Bonavena only available as silent footage? Was it not broadcast live at the time? Did Cossell or Dunphy not call it? If so, again, where is it?

Maybe they were damaged in the fire at the BigFights Inc archives back in the 1970's ?
(I had heard they also had some Maxie Rosenbloom fights as well as Quarry vrs Mathis which was aired on TV)

There is a whole thread on 'missing fights" on this forum somewhere.
Sonny Liston fought on the closed circuit broadcast of Frazier vrs Bonavena II ( on the East Coast anyway).

I can't find the missing fights thread. But here are some fights I've looked for that I believe were televised but I can't find.
Bobick vs LeDoux 1 & 2
Dennis vs LeDoux
Lyle vs Ellis
Lyle vs Bonavena

I think the thread I'm thinking of was part of the Jerry Quarry vrs Buster Mathis thread
which aired in the USA and was also shown taped on the BBC.
But the thread was locked because of some abuse-slinging posters
who didn't want certain questions arsked.

Frazier vs Quarry 1 is definitely available in mint condition live broadcast. I'm not certain if it's on YouTube.Tuan_Jim wrote: ↑27 Aug 2018, 14:02 Frazier's title fights with Mathis, Ramos, Zyglewicz, Ellis, Foster and Ali all exist as live calls in beautiful mint condition. The 2nd Frazier vs Bonavena fight is available complete in colour silent film...

Not on YouTube and never found it in my VHS hunting pomp of yesteryear. Great news it does exist though.evrenb wrote: ↑29 Aug 2018, 16:27Frazier vs Quarry 1 is definitely available in mint condition live broadcast. Any idea where the call is for Bonavena II? A silent fight of that era of such import is certainly odd.
