Been conversing with Kurt Emhoff manager of a few world champions in his time - currently having some real difficulty in securing fights for his men.
Look at the problems he has had.
Travis Simms - Ex WBA Light Middleweight champion, won the title on the Big DKP bill (Hopkins vs Joppy) and signed options with King. Don hasn't OFFERED him (a world champion) a fight in over a year, currently in letigation with the WBA who by passed him a shot at the WBA super champ (which was Winky Wright at the time) and was even stripped of his WBA normal title.
This is from a champion.
Cory Spinks - Signed with DKP in 2002 and apparently (didn't discuss the details) DKP breached the deal every year. Tried to get out of the DKP deal, but his best offer was $200 K for Margarito, or $600 for Mayorga (with King) - re-signed with King.
Signed for a promoter for $500 K, but DKP said this was breach of contract - so he had to give the money back. This was all a long process and of course, naturally when a fighter thinks he has having an iron cladd half a million bonus he is going to spend it.... DKP offered him a way out and to pay this promoter back, plus legal fees - by fighting Karmazin after a year and half out for "next to nothing"... Mr Emhoff has been not involved with Spinks for sometime before this problem - but thinks it is comfortably less than $200 K. This is for a former P4P er who made Don a mint with the Judah rematch.
Derrick Gainer - Signed with cheap skate promoter Joe DeGuardia earlier this year, awaiting a fight. Was supposed to fight Ben Odamattey on ESPN. He signs a deal with DeGuardia stipulating that he will recieve a minimum of $7500 for any fight that will be on TV. In all his years in boxing he has never seen a fighter recieve less.... The week before the fight, DeGuardia changes it and tell's Gainer he only gets $5000 - Team Gainer pull out.
Mr Emhoff did advice, Spinks, Gainer and The Simms boys (Travis' brother is also having difficulties having signed with DeGuardia) against this advice, and despite being their manager, they ignored him and listening to mates looking at the quick money earned.
Now they are all in a bit of a mess, and he is trying to pick up the pieces. He cares too much about the sport and all participants to tell them to fornicate off.
Be careful who you sign for.

He did make on defence on a DKP card (vs Bronco McKart) but hasn't fought since Oct 2004. Judah gave someone a brutal KO aswell.
Just looked, the Simms opponent on that night Garcia is now the WBA Light Middleweight Champion...obviously the wrong person won that night for DKP
Yeah Garcia backed off out of a clinch and Simms smashed him with a hook, defend yourself at all times if you ask me. Simms proved it was no flash in the pan with an impressive points win over Bronco McKart, i think that was on the Trinidad-Mayorga undercard? I could be wrong. The way Simms has been left out in the cold is criminal and whoever is responsible should be ashamed. Probably the Don himself.
remember the nihgt well, was really looking forward to it, sky bought it on the thursday night, to be shown live on the saturday. As it was late notice i sat on my own... watched the first 2 or 3 fights then all of a sudden ruiz rahman came on, 3 rounds in and I woke up at seven on sunday morning. Worst fight ive ever seen, made williams A-force look like hagler hearns.
