Re: Mayweather's fake record to be exceeded tomorrow
I still rate Mayweather's record more than the Thai.
The Thai guy has just got a boosted record of non title fights every few months.
I'm not Mayweather's biggest fan, but it's true.
JCC had a record of 80+ wins and 1 draw before he first loss. Records are records, but you can't say Mayweather has a fake one.

I'll stand by Mayweather's "fake" record any day over the weak cast of characters that make up Menayothin's dubious resume.
The entire world knows and respects the "fake" Mayweather. Is Mena even a household name in Thailand?

Re: Mayweather's fake record to be exceeded tomorrow
Mayweather's record is definitely leagues above this guy's, but his 50th fight was a fake one against an amateur.
Re: Mayweather's fake record to be exceeded tomorrow
He faced any 0-0 debutants recently?
Re: Mayweather's fake record to be exceeded tomorrow
I'm not a fan of Mayweather, my opinion about him is neutral and I guess, his record ain't no fake. His accomplishments are bigger, that the ones of the Thai guy, as it has already been correctly mentioned.

Oh you mean the Irish guy?boxing_rocks wrote: ↑28 Aug 2018, 13:00 Mayweather's record is definitely leagues above this guy's, but his 50th fight was a fake one against an amateur.
I was more thinking about Berto

Even though Money May deserves zero kudos for winning his 50th bout that was a circus event, it was a legitimate victory over a sanctioned professional fighter, which means it technically counts as a genuine win on his resume.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑28 Aug 2018, 13:00 Mayweather's record is definitely leagues above this guy's, but his 50th fight was a fake one against an amateur.
I sincerely believe that no active world-rated boxer would have rejected an opportunity to be paid a nine-digit fee to face a novice making their pro debut, without taking any sort of risk of defeat, can you?

I laugh every time I hear someone claim Mayweather created an all-time record when he went to 50-0.
Tell people something often enough and they will believe anything.

Haven't a lot of world-rated fighters faced a novice making their pro debut at some point during their career?Mexi-Box wrote: ↑28 Aug 2018, 21:05Enlightened-One wrote: ↑28 Aug 2018, 19:14Even though Money May deserves zero kudos for winning his 50th bout that was a circus event, it was a legitimate victory over a sanctioned professional fighter, which means it technically counts as a genuine win on his resume.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑28 Aug 2018, 13:00 Mayweather's record is definitely leagues above this guy's, but his 50th fight was a fake one against an amateur.

If you check my posting history, you'll surely realise that I've never been an advocate of the MayMack freak show, but from a technical perspective, it was a legitimate bout that counts as a genuine win for Mayweather, even though it was a blatant mismatch.
There are probably many fighters that have managed gained pro licences that were less skilled, less experienced and were also not as well physically conditioned as McGregor.
Re: Mayweather's fake record to be exceeded tomorrow
People go on about this 49-0, 50-0 thing too much. It’s boring. How is it better than a record with 100+ wins.

Who cares about such records? Especially if it's a fake record since Mayweather lost to Castillo.
Re: Mayweather's fake record to be exceeded tomorrow
51-0 now baby

Re: Mayweather's fake record to be exceeded tomorrow
I think you will find that Nino Benvenutti won 65 fights before he lost one.

Ricard Lopez. He also beat the opponent that he drew against when they engaged in an immediate rematch.

People have gone more than 51-0 before. Plus Mayweather done it with more stronger opposition.

Well, even though most feel Floyd's 50th fight was a farce. The punch stats don't. Novice or not, Conor gave Floyd a tougher first half than the majority of his previous opponents..... including Canelo.

That why he gassed out quickly. Also, it was 40 years old, inactive retired Floyd that let him to do more. Prime Floyd would embarass ConnorImpractical Poster wrote: ↑29 Aug 2018, 10:50 Well, even though most feel Floyd's 50th fight was a farce. The punch stats don't. I don't care. It's hard to imagine any other novice coming in and giving one of the best to ever lace them up as difficult a time as Conor did. 40 really isn't that old for a TBE, to take care of business against a newby.dagilechia wrote: ↑29 Aug 2018, 11:11That why he gassed out quickly. It shouldn't matter if he gassed or not, the majority of boxing fans did not expect Conor to win a single, much less the 1st half of the fight. Now that he did, Floyd's inactivity comes into play.
Conor was very unconventional, bigger, and stronger. He's in his prime to. Kudos to Floyd for figuring out the enigma and stopping him.
