Possible banana peel ahead

Post by coneye »

Wondering wether or not the Wilder -Fury fight comes off , I could'nt help but think is Eddie risking his payday king , by not taking the Wilder fight , a serious in shape Poletvkin could really be a banana peel , He is quite a good enough all rounder to take AJ into deep water , and then finish him , AJ really while you would have to say is the best at the moment , is'nt that great a shakes anyway .

Wilder well except for being ackward , and having a good dig is'nt no great shakes either , so if Fury can get his fitness up , he really, only has to not get caught with the big one, to survive and win , he did it with Klitchko , he could do it again, if he stays focused , really here he could be a banana peel for Wilder , on the other hand i have said it before and i'll say it again , at this level you don't go grab your mate to train you because he held the pads well for another mate ,

, Furys banana skin will be the lack of Peter in the gym , Peter understood boxing and styles , and had the big fella fighting to suit his style , also sticking with the plans , I would be concerned this Ben fella does'nt have the experience to spot , evaluate , and change tactics .

With these two fights , there really is the possibility of Wilder , and AJ losing , Eddie should really of offered a better deal for the wilder fight and pushed harder for it , the money would of been colosal and if a rematch was needed , big money again ,, Which brings forth another point , i said a long time ago it would'nt happen in 2018 , because Mckracken did'nt want it , and in the interview i seen he said , Its not up to Eddie its me and Josh decide , and we want to wait and let it grow , TRANSLATED that means , Wilder could knock my boy out so we want to wait till he's older and we get better , .

Problem is there now gonna face a guy who's technicly better than Wilder and could still knock him out , in other words if they did'nt finish Wilder, early they would have to worry about his big looping right hand and ameteurish rushing and boxing , which up till now really has looked good against sub par opposition , against Poletvkin , if they can't stop him they have to worry about a technicly better boxer who can still finish you ,, personaly i think Wilder would be an easier fight , just keep the hands up and stick the jab in his face when he rushes , not rocket science ,

Fury on the other hand , if he's in condition which i think he will be , can throw a spanner in the whole works , he is more than capable of out boxing, and running for a points win, against Wilder , so set the scenario Aj loses , Fury wins , , there goes two MASSIVE paydays against Wilder , , first and a rematch , , Wilder becomes irrelavent , and people just say he was cherry picking all along , and Fury is the man ,, Not only that though Fury is the man and he WILL call the shots , there is no way will Eddie get away with the we'll give you 15 milli and we keep the rest , it will be 50-50 or nothing Fury , canstantly says he has enough money and he's not about money , which i believe , but he would'nt play second fiddle to Eddie and Aj , know matter what they said

Fury on the other hand well he wins either way, has long has he does'nt get stopped easy , , his excuse is ready made, i was'nt ready , but i'm a gypsy fighting man who fights ready or not , but next time i'll be ready .

Interesting times ahead , but i really do think Hearn has played with fire here , he stands to lose an awful lot if Aj loses , although to be fair to Eddie , i really don't think its him , AJ has just got too big and now he and Mckracken tell Eddie whats what , the Wilder fight was never gonna happen soon , IF AJ gets through this next one , i think yhey will push for Whyte , or Miller , i don't think Mckracken wants to meet a big , fit puncher till at least 2020 , they want more time to develop AJ,s skills and defence , , and Wilder to get older and slow down , or heaven forbid learn to box better where he would be more predictable ,

But Poletvkin and Fury could quite easily throw a spanner in the works , interesting times ahead

Klitschko was gun shy against AJ and more so Fury! He didn't start throwing til late against Fury when the fight was lost! He had AJ bang in bother and couldn't finish him!

Some good points from Coneye
I would just add that all heavyweight title clashes carry risk. The odds are roughly 90/10 in Joshua's favour, so the promoter has secured a bout that will most likely be won, and the bandwagon will roll on.
The promoter has done his job.
Whether it would be better to take a bigger purse for a higher risk fight is something that will have been considered.
Fortunately we are in times where fighters have a say in who they fight and from the outside looking in it would seem that the reply from Joshua was 'Not yet'.

Knocking Price out is hardly proof of being a devastating puncher - it’s hardly an elite list who have achieved the same is it.

Povetkin is vastly over rated in a very shallow division. He’s a near 40 year old, out of shape, midget who went life and death with a limited career cruiserweight and has looked terrible over the last couple of years since he got popped. Joshua is limited at elite but there are no elite heavyweights around just now so it matters not. Pov won’t win three rounds

povs a very solid fighter , one of the most accomplished hws as amateur and pro, and whose rightfully been top 5 for years. hes earned a shot on his wins , which include some great knockouts, but ajs an elite fighter and will win handily

as for age, hes funnily enough actually younger then ortiz, and the wlad who fought both fury and aj. pretty much the best wins wilder, fury, an aj have are over guys around 40. of course aj also beat guys in there 20s like whyte and parker

I think it'll be a very tough fight for AJ, probably make it 75/25 in AJ's favour.

Your right, of course. Price has been knocked out a few times now. It was more the punch that locked Price up while he was still standing. I think it would have knocked anyone down.

Wilder is the one taking the risk of missing out on a big payday not AJ/Eddie, AJ couldn't accept the $50m offer as it was based on being on BT PPV and Wilders team knew this and that's why they refused to have a meeting to discuss the offer.

Wilder turned down $15m to fight in the fall and is turning down $15m to fight AJ in April, when he beats Fury he's gonna demand more money as he thinks beating an out of shape and underprepared Fury is a big deal.

If this fight never happens it wont be because of AJ and Eddie.

It absolutely will because of them, why should Wilder accept a flat fee and no rematch clause if he loses, the offer they made Wilder was done so in a manner they knew it wouldn't be accepted.

You do realise they accepted the flat fee offer with no rematch clause, right? The problem they had was that they didn't have an exact date and venue, even though they've not got a date and venue with Fury but they've signed to that fight. They never wanted the fight. $15m is a great offer and they are the challenger so no rematch clause is standard, as they're so confident of winning they don't need a rematch clause anyway.

They aren't the challenger, it's a unification fight, as they are both champs, $15m is shit if AJ gets $80m.

Where has it said AJ will get $80m other than Frank's rants?

I thought Eddie had agreed to put a rematch clause in the wilder contract. They agreed to all Wilders demands.

On a side note, Frank must be feeling the pressure regarding fury wilder because he has just tweeted a list of fighters without licences in reply to sky's article on fury not applying for one in Nevada.

Yet I've been blocked because I ask, when is the fight, where is the fight & when's the press conference to announce that and has a deal actually been done.

Think he is feeling the pressure of announcing before everything has been sorted to gain one up on Eddie.

Who know what he'll get but I'm guessing Wilders team will want a percentage not a flat fee.

Like I told you before they already agreed to the offer, and just because he has 1 belt doesn't mean they are equals. AJ getting $80m??? As Frank would. say.... do me a favour.

Nonsense. He absolutely splattered Takam, Duhaupas and Pérez in ways no one ever has. Calling him a midget is just dumb.

There was a rematch clause but only for AJ., they agreed to that anyway. The only problem they had was there was no date or venue as GGG-Canelo 2 had just been announced so Matchroom had to work out the best date to maximise PPV sales. Eddie guaranteed them over the phone it'd be AJ's next fight and that'd be in Cardiff around September, they didn't reply for 2 weeks knowing the WBA was going to force purse bids to be called and then could blame Eddie and AJ. They have no problem signing to fight an out of shape and underprepared Fury without a date and venue though.

Agree , i've noticed the same things in videos of him , ,, Thing is when you have a guy like Tyson the guy has been in the gym all his life , a trainer can't keep teaching him , he knows what to do and probably knows more than most trainers ,It becomes impossible to keep teaching new things daily because the knoledge just is'nt there you run out ,

So the job of a trainer is then to make sure the boxer gets faster , fitter and mentally prepared , keep a close eye and make sure bad habits , don't develop , habits like dropping the guard , telegraphing punches , same head movements , ect ect , and make sure the practice is perfect , , because practice does'nt make perfect , PERFECT practice makes PERFECT , , the trainer at this level should have what i call the eye , and thats the ability in seconds to spot a flaw , and a way to explote that flaw ,, The great trainers have the eye , and it usually comes with experience , Take triple G , DOES ANYONE FOR ONE MINUITE THINK HIS TRAINER KNOWS MORE THAN HIM BECAUSE I DOUBT HE DOES , BUT TRIPLE G knows he needs a experienced captain to steer the ship , Tyson gets his mate , it could be his downfall
