Surprised HBO can be bothered talking about boxing.
Probably need to build their new star.. Jaime Munguia..

The fact that they still bother to have a Boxing talk show when they barely air Boxing anymore is an odd choice.

I take it as a good sign that they plan to continue showing boxing matches. If they had cancelled the show it would be easy to see that as an indication that they planned to pull out of the sport altogether. The renewal of "Fight Game" shows me that HBO execs are weathering the drought and eventually hope to pull out of it.
With Arum/Top Rank now on ESPN and Showtime clearly surpassing HBO in terms of both quality and quantity of matches, it is encouraging to see HBO is not abandoning the sweet science.

I think that GGG/Canelo II is HBO’’s last hurrah. The sport is clearly moving into a strange cottage type sport with streaming now and it’s not a great thing imo. The timing is awful for it. Only boxing fans will pay to stream the sport. A non fan as not going to casually pay to stream a fight because nothing is on tv. It won’t even be an option.Best Coast wrote: ↑01 Sep 2018, 18:35

When HBO OR SHO are putting on casual cards, they do get a percentage of new fans and new interested fans. This way, it’s impossible. Bad for growth of Boxing.
