This fight was a very good learning experience for Garcia as well as a humbling experience. Compared to his other previous bouts he seemed more humble in the post-fight interview, especially compared to the Vargas fight interview, where Ryan was downright cocky.

The most entertaining fight of the night and the guy has clearly got some talent.

Do you consider Macias a legit prospect or do you think he's a novelty act/freak show who will fade away once he steps up to face world-class competition?

The way Macias throws punches is odd. He also has really, really bad defense. I do think that win was legit, though. The kid he fought was supposedly a seasoned amateur with an undefeated record. It's not like it was some guy that never step foot in a boxing gym before.

I think the division is a little too strong for him to be anything other than a bottom 20 type of fighter. He's very fun to watch, though. I really hope GBP doesn't screw this up like the other promotional company did with Seldin.

I'm assuming what you are mean when you say Neeco could become "a bottom 20 type of fighter" is actually that you think he could reach the bottom end of the top 20 (18th, 19th, etc) as opposed to being one of the worst 20 fighters in the talent-loaded super welters.

I agree the win over Marvin Cabrera was a good one. Not only was Cabrera unbeaten at 8-0 but has good amateur credentials with numerous national titles as a Mexican am. I hope Oscar doesnt to try to cash in on Neeco's entertainment value by making him a novelty act and putting him up against scrubs to build a "good record" like Arum did with Butterbean.
