Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Billy Joe Saunders will defend his WBO middleweight title in his opponent’s home area in a second straight fight.

Promoter Eddie Hearn told multiple media outlets Wednesday that Saunders’ title defense against Demetrius Andrade will take place October 20 at TD Garden in Boston. TD Garden, the home arena of the NBA’s Celtics and NHL’s Bruins, is about 50 miles from Andrade’s hometown of Providence, Rhode Island.

The Saunders-Andrade fight will headline a show streamed live by DAZN as part of Perform Group’s partnership with Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing. The first DAZN/Matchroom show in the United States, scheduled for October 6 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, was officially announced at a press conference Wednesday.

I don’t think FW will be at the press conference although I’m sure he will be during fight week.

There would be those more cynical than myself who might suggest the primary miracle is that he can write at all, and that the all-capitals style may indicate less than a deft grasp of the written word. Those more cynical than me, anyway... as it happens my writing is far worse so I should STFU

There’s something oddly satisfying about seeing Delta’s wanky corporately branded paraphernalia being used for something so juvenile

Daniyar Yeleussinov Set For Return, on Saunders-Andrade

Daniyar Yeleussinov is expected to return to the ring next month.

The Kazakh Olympic gold medallist was last in action in August.

Yeleussinov is currently 3-0 with one early finish and Boxing Scene understands that he will be back between the ropes on October 20.

It is expected to be revealed by Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing that the 27-year-old John David Jackson-trained fighter will be added to the card topped by Billy Joe Saunders' WBO middleweight world title defence against mandatory challenger Demetrius Andrade.

What does Billy care about his grammer , he's no different than lots and lots of other sports stars , when other kids were at the school desk swotting and learning , Billy was out shadow boxing and dreaming of being a world champion , while lots and lots of adults Billys age , are on the net laughing at his spelling ,and struggling to pay the rent , , he's writing cheques for a Ferrari ,,

Not at all convinced by Yeleussinov yet. Looks to seriously lack power.

Not everyone is a KO artist though. Give him time.. This guy is a pure boxer type.. Although I do prefer new talents to try being aggressive earlier on.
Kinda like Shakur Stevenson in the US. I haven't been impressed yet.

The lack of power is a bit of a worry as he progresses but other than that he's just not been that great to watch so far. Pretty boring in all honesty.

Agree with Shakur. I like Conlon but he needs to start showing more as well. Maybe we'll see more as they're stepped up?

Maybe.. Personally, I prefer fighters being more excited ealier on.. Keeps people locked in and wanting to see their next fight.

Examples like AJ, knocking opponents out or someone that is in exciting fights. Most of Khan's earlier career was great. Really got people behind him.

Yeah I'm the same. Does build hype but there's nothing wrong with that at the start. I can't remember a better start to a career domestically than Josh Taylor's in recent years. He's been electric and matched very well into the bargain.
