Daniel Dubois is probably too young to be in the running. It stands to reason that he will take his time more than these other names. Efe Ajagba's development in the short-term will probably also lag behind Yoka and Hrgovic since he is currently less developed. Sirenko is probably not anywhere close to being in the running. Tischenko is probably also less likely than Yoka and Hrgovic, since he is smaller and less far along as a pro.

Joe Joyce is a somewhat plausible shout, since he's old as dirt. He obviously needs to go for it on a rapid timeline before he starts to get too old. He has no incentive to go slow. Only downside is he might lose leading up to a title shot.

Hrgovic and Yoka are pretty much 100% getting a title shot someday. They have no need to rush, because they might be future cash cows if they stay undefeated, but they are good enough that they won't need to take their time much either. They'll probably get their shot in 2-3 years.

Ivan Dychko likely has less potential than Hrgovic and Yoka. He doesn't need to worry about becoming an undefeated cash cow champion; he should be happy to be the loser in a world title fight. He is also older than Hrgovic and Yoka. He will probably challenge for a title on a somewhat similar timetable -- 3ish years.

Mladen Miljas also has a plausible chance. He is the third guy in the top 50 who qualifies for this thread's criteria. I feel like there is less rock solid proof that he is a future contender, but his win over Dillon Carman implies that he might be in the mix.

Joe Joyce needs to be looking for a world title shot within the next 18months imo.

Hrgovic might not be so far behind...

Easy. It WILL BE Joe Joyce.

He’s being pushed the fastest and Haye has already said they’re trying to fast track him into world title contention.

Sanchez has said he wants him ready for a world title shot by the end of 2019.

Between Hrgovic and Joyce for me. Hrgovic is taking on a better man in Mansour the soonest but Joyce has just been ranked by WBA and his connection with Haymon means he will likely get a WBC ranking soon. I think Joyce also claimed he has a "huge" fight planned for December but we'll see how huge that really is.

Probably Joyce. He's shouting everyone out and seems in a hurry. Might have to sever ties with Haye and go with Fast Ed though to make it happen quickly.

Nice post :TU:
I think you look laid out the situation succinctly. I also agree that Joyce, albiet the #1 in the list to get a shot first ( especially after his recent co-signing) does have the look of a banna peel waiting to happen.
The list misses Usyk, and while not a current HW, I'm sure if he does move up, his accent will be swift. He has also boxed the ears off Joyce in the past...

Thanks for the input but the reason Usyk isnt in the mix is not because he is a cruiser, but rather because he has MORE than 10 pro bouts.

Joe Joyce definitely seems to be the guy that's moving his career along at the fastest rate so I'd probably go with him.

Hrgovic is making a pretty bold step forward in his 6th fight.

from fighting in France, by the French drug testers, for one year. The world-wide drug testers haven't banned him from the rest of the world as far as I can tell.

Hrgovic is making a pretty bold step forward in his 6th fight.
With Joyce at age 32 it's expected, as the clock ticks away on his career. Hrgovic is more surprising at 26, with his willingness to take on Amir Mansour. But even more surprising is Dubois, who just turned 21 today and will step up to face former world title challenger Kevin Johnson in early October. Even though KJ is 38 he should be a tougher test than most of the others mentioned here besides Joyce & Hrgovic have been willing to face.

I guess. I don't really consider Kevin Johnson to be particularly threatening. Especially at this point, but at least he has name value I guess. I'm surprised anybody would still be wanting to see Kevin Johnson fight...even as the opponent.

Thanks for reminding me of Uzbekistani prospect BAKHODIR JALOLOV. He turned pro in May and fights on the 9/29 Lou DiBella card in Brooklyn, where Jalolov has been based as a pro. He lost in the Quarterfinals of 2016 Olympics to Joyce and won bronze at the 2015 World Championships. 24-year-old lefty could be a factor at HW down the road.

Looks like long, tall fighters will be continuing their predominance in the HW division. Here's the heights of the 9 prospects listed above:

6'9" (Dychko), 6'7", 6'6" (3 guys), 6'5" (3 guys)...the only one under 6'5" is Sirenko at 6'3 1/2"

ATTENTION: WHEN I MADE A LATE ADDITION OF ONE NAME TO THE POLL LIST -- BAKHODIR JALOLOV -- IT CANCELLED OUT ALL THE PREVIOUS VOTES AND THE TALLY WENT BACK TO ZERO FOR ALL FIGHTERS. BEFORE I MESSED IT UP THE TOTALS WERE SOMETHING LIKE:

JOE JOYCE=14
FILIP HRGOVIC=5
DANIEL DUBOIS=1
EFE AJAGBA=1

FEEL FREE TO VOTE AGAIN. SORRY ABOUT THE ERROR, THAT WAS FIRST TIME (AND LAST TIME) I EVER TRIED THAT!!

Joyce will be first because he's got less time than the others. He'd also get stopped by Wilder and Joshua as well. I imagine we're talking just the belts that AJ and Wilder hold and not any WBA bullshit titles?

No big deal. It was a valuable learning experience for me. Now I know you cannot alter a poll list once the poll has begun without eliminating all the previous votes!! I have done numerous polls in the past, but had never made that mistake before...
