im not saying hes bitching out, but it does seem strange to value 1 bauble so much when so many serious accolades would still be up for grabs. hed be the lineal universal recognized #1 , and hes never beaten anyone at lhw, cw, or hw whose nearly as high ranked as usyk is at cw
just a bit wierd for such a fighting man to care so much about 1 trinket
WBA orders Usyk vs Lebedev
Re: WBA orders Usyk vs Lebedev
Funny saying it's not as close as people make out when you post a woefully bad scorecard like that.dagilechia wrote: ↑05 Sep 2018, 15:05 Btw Usyk-Briedis fight was not that close as some people say or as scorecards say. Briedis won 2-4 rounds, some rounds were close but clearly for Usyk. I personally had it 117-111 Usyk. If he beats Bellew, Lebedev and lets say Dorticos (if he wins WBSS, or for example Tabiti if he wins) it would cement his CW legacy but if he beats Bellew, Chisora, then someone like Whyte/Pulev/Miller and attacks HW throne it wouldnt be any worse. My point is, i dont want him to waste time fighting no hopers at CW, i want him at HW as soon as possible. I think there is some kind of consensus that Usyk is currently unbeatable at CW and fighting those guys is just proving something obvious that we already know anyway. Bellew's best win at CW is imo Masternak and it was a close fight. Lebedev fights bums only since he lost to Gassiev.
BTW My dream fantasy fight some time ago was Usyk vs Povetkin, if he moves to HW after Bellew and wants to come strong into division, it could be a great HW test and introducing fight to the division (if Povetkin loses to AJ of course)
Maybe everyone else just knows how to score a fight properly.
Re: WBA orders Usyk vs Lebedev
consensus ive seen on forums was usyk competitive but clear, like around 8-4. theres a very very small amount ive seen agree with a draw and ive seen pretty much no one say briedis won
personally i thought 8-4 was about the right score, rounds were competitive but usyk was getting most of them. 7-5 is giving briedis benefit of doubt and 6-6 is just generous

Re: WBA orders Usyk vs Lebedev
I hope that Usyk either fights Bellew (if there is enough money to make it happen) or moves up to HW.
There is really nobody to fight at CW that is not step down for him. Prime Lebedev against Usyk would be great match bu Lebedev is too much over the hill now to make it competitive.
It could be hard to find suitable opponent at HW thou. He definitely is high risk and low reward for most guys.
Could they pay enough for someone like Chisora to make it happen?

Re: WBA orders Usyk vs Lebedev
Official scorecards were too close, most of people had a fear that they will rob Usyk. 116-112, 117-111, thats how this fight should be properly scored. The fight as a whole seemed to be closer than 117-111 because most of rounds were close but edged by Usyk.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑07 Sep 2018, 04:23Funny saying it's not as close as people make out when you post a woefully bad scorecard like that.dagilechia wrote: ↑05 Sep 2018, 15:05 Btw Usyk-Briedis fight was not that close as some people say or as scorecards say.
