Both fighters looking in stunning shape at the weighin. This is my pick of best fight on the Joshua Povitkin card.
Campbell is either going to easilly outpoint Mendy, or end up kissing canvas again. The makings of a really good fight.

Campbell was well beaten in the 1st fight, I think he'll improve this time around though, Mendy will still prove a tricky customer and will try to take the fight to him again but I can see Campbell correcting the mistakes from last time and eek out a decision that will probably be a bit generous on the cards

Mendy always looks in cracking shape.

Yeah I'm leaning toward the "generous" decision for Campbell as well.handsofstone wrote: ↑21 Sep 2018, 16:53 Campbell was well beaten in the 1st fight, I think he'll improve this time around though, Mendy will still prove a tricky customer and will try to take the fight to him again but I can see Campbell correcting the mistakes from last time and eek out a decision that will probably be a bit generous on the cards

Really pleased this got done, should be a great match. Hope Luke can get the win, he's a great advert for boxing.

If Luke is anywhere near where he was with Linares, he should have this in the bag. Losing to Mendy was a positive experience I think. He has only got better since. Of course Mendy isn't there to get knocked over. The dude is tough and wiley. And you can see from the weigh in, he is taking it seriously.

Mendy has really wasted his career since taking Campbell's 0.
Just faced a bunch of mediocre no-hopers. He's a solid fighter, could easily be a fringe top 10 challenger rather than loitering outside the top 20.

These days it is more about managemt clout and earning power to get big fights than the will to accept them. I'm 100% sure Campbell and his management held all the cards in this. Even though Luke is theoretically the challenger in this fight, I bet he is earning by far the bigger purse.tigermoth87 wrote: ↑22 Sep 2018, 06:26 Mendy has really wasted his career since taking Campbell's 0.

Yeh. After Mendy beat Campbell. Hearn could have signed Mendy up for a few fights at least. Guaranteed within a year, he would have recieved a world title shot.KiwiRider wrote: ↑22 Sep 2018, 06:50These days it is more about managemt clout and earning power to get big fights than the will to accept them. Hearn is usually clever like that. When Burns fought Indongo, because Indongo wasn't promotionally tied, he added on the contract that he'd have power over his next fight. Which he did and it was a big fight vs. Crawford.

I didn't realize how stacked lightweight was until just now when I had a look at the rankings.
Loma, Garcia, Linares, are 3 guys who would make many people's top 20 p4p.
Then add other good fighters like Easter Jr, Commey, Pedraza, Fortuna, Campbell, Crolla.
Prospects like Ritson, Nakatani and that young Russian bloke.
Great division.

Very proud of Luke.
He shone tonight and did what he had to rarely making a mistake. Kept his hands up and steped to the side pretty much every time. The only shot with a guy who covers up as well as Mendy was the left to the bread basket and Luke landed it all night.
Easy work for Loma if that's next, but I think he could beat Linares the second time around.
