I notice he is trained by Gavin Rees. There seems to be quite a bit of hype around him ... the whole King Kody ... Property of God ... perma tan and silly hair do
His record looks ok at moment; all wins - although against very very poor opposition. Only seen a couple of his fights so don’t know a lot about him, but first impressions are that he is not a big puncher despite his superb physique and that he fights too small; as in for a tall guy he gives away lots of advantages which may become an issue fighting better quality kids his own height.
he looked okay-ish in what ive seen. not particularly good or bad. seemed to smother his own work though? i can see what you mean about not using his height, and tbf sometimes tall guys can be more effective inside--it depends on the fighter, but like i said it seemed to me when i saw him he was getting too close and smothering his own shots.
opposition has been pretty weak like you say, and its really hard to judge where someones really at when youve just got weak guys not fighting back. sometimes guys really shine when in a fight compared to just beating up a living punching bag. and sometimes you really see weaknesses come out. well see i guess
The last opponent had almost 100 losses and been stopped last few times too; very weak opponent considering where they hyping the kid to go ...
I just think having such a short trainer for a tall fighter will cause issues. Even the clips I have seen of him hitting the bags shows his punching being taught towards short opposition.
That and not a serious looking punch, I was just wondering if others here see him actually going to British title level??
I know it’s very early but I don’t see him going too far off what he showing so far.

Ive seen a lot of him.
He has a strange crouching stance with his feet way too wide. That reduces his power by loads.
I saw him in the ams a few times. He's OK until someone really puts it on him.
He's dropped from 14 stone as an amateur to 12 stone now. Gavin Rees has no doubt got him very fit, but Im very curious to see how he gets on against decent opponents.
Kody and Haye are similar height; where as Gavin Rees is about 5’2” (I know Boxrec have him as 5’4” but he was considerably shorter than my wife when she stood next to him previously) and Adam Booth is not shorter than 5’8” I’d guess.
I think the ‘special shoes’ thing was likely a bit for media publicity.

As far as I recall, the special shoe thing was for the Valuev fight and it was a bit of a gimmick.
Gavin Rees is about 5'4". Kody is just about 6"3.
Haye was 6'3 as well. I don't know how tall Booth is, but I would guess 5'8 is about right.
