Khan has a paper chin, but incredible powers of recovery. The amount of times non-punchers have him going it MUST be a bad chin, but his heart and fitness get him back in the fight.

haha - I've never thought Brook was ducking Khan at any point but it is so obvious now - why do some people think the other way aroundhandsofstone wrote: ↑08 Sep 2018, 18:15 Ive always believed its Khan whos ducking Brook and its clear as day now

Basically that was Amir's Greatest Hits—fast start, hanging his chin out to be knocked silly by overhand rights, loadsa heart, stirring 50 punch flurries then gassing & going back in straight lines with ineffectual earmuffs on to get his torso leathered on the ropes, which combined with gassing from throwing 11000 punches leads him to struggle & flounder late.
He's basically got to fight Brook next, who knows if he makes it through his next fight without getting levelled? If you get to pay a couple visits to Discombobulation Station versus the Sammy Vargas's of the world, you may as well take all the money you can as quickly as you possible, if you ask me.
Also, I realised just how much I missed watching Amir Khan fights. Unless he's fighting someone who won't/can't come forward (step forward, Devon Alexander—or rather, don't. Ever), they're pretty much all awesome to watch. Every time he left his chin hanging out for a right hand (so like pretty much 8-9 rounds tonight) I was jumping up in my seat.
PS: Shocking, shite refereeing. There's probably a good joke to be made about O'Connor signing for Matchroom, but I for one cannot call anything to mind.

He's got big balls and he's always in good fights, think he might get Manny finally now, he'll fancy it big time after tonight. Brook would stand him on his head in a couple of rounds I think, that fight is never happening.

Eddie seemed insistent, now or never
But it was a 3 fight deal with Khan wasnt it?

Pacquiao looked good last time out and Khan obviously feels like whatever used to go on at the Wildcard gives him the win.
For me personally, Khan v Pacquiao is the one I would rather see.
Brook looked much larger than Macklin, I don't believe he can still make 147 and still put in any kind of performance.

On a much lower scale. It's past it's sell by date now without another loss chucked in to the mixleejonesjnr wrote: ↑08 Sep 2018, 18:49Meh, still be a goer I reckonsamwbr wrote: ↑08 Sep 2018, 18:47Not if he lost.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑08 Sep 2018, 18:45

Re: Round-by-Round: Amir Khan vs. Samuel Vargas - 8 September 2018
Perhaps Khan really is afraid of Kell Brook. I don’t believe that is the case, but who knows, perhaps Brook at 147 seems more intimidating than Alvarez at 155.
I think that more likely it’s a combination of Khan not liking Brook and the Hatton-not-wanting-Witter-to-get-paid mindset and that now Pac seems to be possible again he really wants a contest with one of the sports icon level stars.

He is bent as fornicate. I still remember his scoring of McDermott v Fury with total disgust.Datsue wrote: ↑08 Sep 2018, 18:21 Basically that was Amir's Greatest Hits—fast start, hanging his chin out to be knocked silly by overhand rights, loadsa heart, stirring 50 punch flurries then gassing & going back in straight lines with ineffectual earmuffs on to get his torso leathered on the ropes, which combined with gassing from throwing 11000 punches leads him to struggle & flounder late.

I particularly noticed his underhand ways last night when Khan was shook badly around the end of round 9 (?) and the bell came at the right time. At the start of the next round O'Connor called both fighters to the centre of the ring for a sham talking to for absolutely no good reason other than to allow the home fighter, Khan, longer time to recover.
Whenever he is the ref I always worry for the away fighter, particularly if a foreigner, as he is often too keen to call off a fight just when it gets toasty.

Khan said years ago that Brook was an easy fight for him. If he fought Brook he would have to come off twitter for a year after.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑09 Sep 2018, 04:02 Perhaps Khan really is afraid of Kell Brook. His fear of losing to Brook is what has stopped this fight happening and IMO will continue to do so.
