Doubt very much anything comes of his attempt to run. If you're planning a 2020 Presidential Run you'd have to be laying the groundwork for such a thing now. None of these Celebrities who are talking out of their ass about running are doing the groundwork so therefore it's all meaningless, and they won't get anywhere in the Primaries if they're even serious about running in the first place.

The entire political system in America seems incapable of electing a serious candidate. It's often difficult to make sense of what happens there. We know it takes ages, and we know that despite all the talk about democracy it usually comes down to 4/5 key states. It also costs an absolute fortune to run and seems to go on forever.

The only explanation that can offer any sense to outsiders is that famous line from Douglas Adams,

"The job of the Galactic President was not to wield power but to attract attention away from it,".

So by that reckoning Oscar could well be in the mix, along with Kanye or any other celebrity with enough money and twitter followers who fancies 24/7 media attention for 4/5 years. They won't achieve any lasting change of course, but that's exactly the point.

Nowadays it can be seen as character! Besides, we now know the whole system is crooked so one of the main roles of the Pres might as well be to entertain. Perhaps we might even see the De La Hoya/Mayweather ticket for 2020. Oscar/Kanye anyone?

I doubt MOST people would be too impressed with the Fishnets thing. The LGBT crowd would like it, some people would be indifferent to it, and there's some that would NEVER vote for him after seeing that

I'd be indifferent to it personally, but I still doubt very much I'd vote for him because he'd be completely unqualified. Just because one party elected an unqualified douche doesn't mean it should become the thing to do.

Oscar has to be joking. The homosexual lobby is not as strong as some people think. Even liberal California voted AGAINST gay marriage TWICE and so have 30+ other states where homosexual marriage was actually put to a vote of the people. A significant majority of Americans will vote against him once they see his fishnet pervert pictures (especially because Oscar later admitted it was really him and NOT photoshopped).

The reason I agree that this is just promo BS for the Canelo-GGG fight is because the very first time Oscar got into a debate against other candidates or a press conference with serious questions about issues he would be humiliated as a very shallow candidate with NO grasp of political issues. He is a one issue robot > open borders, because he thinks if enough illegal immigrants get into the US he will be taken seriously as a politician, but he is fooling himself in that regard too.
