Speaking on Toe To Toe, pundit Spencer Fearon put it to Khan point-blank that if he doesn’t face Kell Brook the British boxing public will never forgive him.

Khan replied:

“Exactly but I’m not saying no to that fight. The thing is though, at the moment, I take every fight a step at a time. Tomorrow I could hurt my hand, I could get hit by a car. This is the world we live in. But in my opinion what makes more sense for me is taking the Manny Pacquiao fight because we don’t know how much he has left in him. Manny Pacquiao like you said is almost 40 years old yeah, so how long has he got left. Whereas Kell Brook is 32. He’s a very similar age to me, I think there’s a six month age difference, I’m 31, he’s 32. That fight could be made a lot easier as well are with the same promotional company. The fight that won’t be there for a long time is the Manny Pacquiao fight. That’s the reason ( I want that fight next), honestly.”

Promoter reveals he has reserved STADIUM for all-British clash

EDDIE HEARN has revealed he has reserved an 80,000-seater stadium for three dates for Amir Khan vs Kell Brook.

But a showdown with rival Brook could still be on the cards.

Eddie Hearn, who promotes both Khan and Brook, has revealed he has booked the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, in case the fight gets made.

In an interview with iFL TV, he stated that the teams are not working to a specific deadline to make the fight, but he wants the deal to be done soon.

“I hope to meet Amir tomorrow to talk about the next fight, be that Kell Brook, Manny Pacquiao, or even someone else, we have a few options,” Hearn said.

“I thought some of the commentary was unfair on Khan, you can’t really use Le Greco as his comeback fight as it went 29 seconds, so really that was his first fight since the Canelo fight, having been out two-and-a-half years.

“Amir, if he had his preference, would fight Manny Pacquiao.

“He’s wanted that fight for years, he thinks he’s a big global star, and that’s his preference.”

The promoter also reassured fans that if the Pacquiao fight doesn’t happen, the Brook fight is still a strong possibility.

“That fight isn’t easy to make, because of the demands of both fighters, whereas the Kell Brook fight is actually quite easy to make, for the first time ever,” he explained.

“I think the Pacquiao fight would take place early December, and the Brook fight would take place in later December.

“In an ideal world, Amir would wait until February/March to fight, but Pacquiao wants to fight in December.

“The Pacquiao team wants the fight, it’s just a question of where, how much, there’s a lot of logistics.”

Hearn also admitted that he has already planned ahead for if the fight gets made, and stated it could happen in the stadium that Anthony Joshua’s last two fights have been held in.

“We have the 1st, 8th and 15th of December held at the Principality Stadium for that fight,”
he said.

Before Khan's last fight, I really wanted to see him fight Kel Brook.
After Khan's last fight, I really hope there is a good undercard if he does fight Kel Brook...

Khan has a slight chance at 147. It’s hell for Kell to make and he’s hardly been living the life these past 6 months.
