Can Brandon Cook bring it tonight?

Post by chuck9788 »

I'm interested to see if Brandon Cook (20-1, 13 KO's) from Canada can put up a good challenge to Jaimie Munguia (30-0, 25 KO's) today.

Your thoughts? Fight prediction?

It's going to be a long painful night for Cook.

Come to think of it, it may be a very short one.

Don't expect him to stand up to the same battering that Smith did.

He might bring it, but he'll quickly get beaten up and mugged for it

Odds are tightening.

From a 50-1 shot, Cook is now only a 45-1 dog.

Some true believers out there, willing to out their money on the Canadian Crippler.

He will bring the fight IMO. But Munguia is better boxer and bigger and stronger man. Munguia will end this in first half of the fight. But this is boxing, everything can happen :)

That's where I'm coming from too.
It's the only Cook fight I've seen.
He took a beating and was stopped- thankfully, because it was getting hard to watch.
On the positive side, that was a while ago. Fighters improve. He is tough enough to hang with Munguia for a while at least. Cook seemed to have the basics down pat, that might not be enough.
Huge upset if he does get a win here.

I dont see him with much of a chance. His best wins came against bottom-feeders with good records like Suarez and Butler.

He lasted 9 rounds in his TKO loss to unbeaten Kanat Islam so he MAY have a decent chin but to me the main question is whether Munguia wins by KO or decision.

Just checked the current odds in person at the Mexican sports book.

Munguia is surprisingly only a -3300 favorite here.

Even the Mexican fans are going for the Canadian underdog.

There's apparently no loyalty when it comes to money.

However those traitorous Cook wagers are going to be very disappointed in the outcome.

Mucho pesos down the drain.
