What i would be concerned about is a 2 inch cut , you can drive a bus through that DOES'NT BLEED , what the eff was on that swap ... Absolutely - like I said on my first post regarding this - it was a two inch cut on the eyelid and it just stopped bleeding when he went back to his corner - there's blood all over the place when I cut myself shaving. It was a big, deep cut too, not a nick.
You're probably old enough to remember but when Matthew Saad Muhammad beat John Conteh - he had similar cuts and they stopped bleeding with some magical mix, that was investigated and found to be an illegal mix used, nothing will happen with Canelo nor will there be an investigation.

I don’t disagree with regards to the first fight scoring, the 118-110 score was a joke, but I think a lot of what Canelo did In that fight is forgotten too, it wasn’t a blow out. He fought well, albeit differently from tonight but it wasn’t the domination people pretend it was.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 02:23The way he’s been treated, his fans deserve to be a bit nasty right now. As someone pointed out on another thread - only 1 of the 6 scorecards over the 2 fights was scored in favour of Golovkin. Absolutely blatant corruption.

Definitely odd given the size of the cut. Though I think it widened over the course of the fight.Wigan_Unathletic wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 02:27There might have been a trickle - but it basically stopped bleeding for the rest of the fight. Dodgy.Covfefe wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 01:59It did bleed though. At least one round he went back to the corner with blood down the side of his face. Only one mind.Wigan_Unathletic wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 01:57

It wasn’t the round where the cut was open either before any smart arse chimes in.![]()

But a gash that long and deep and it basically ceased to be a problem - nothing will be done though.

GGG won that for me. Canelo is a unbelievable fighter but what comes with him is a joke. Gets caught cheating nothing really happens, loses 2 close but clear fights and gets 1 draw and a win. Corruption has been involved in boxing for so long and I can't see it stopping anytime soon. Would love to see the fight for a 3rd time just because the other 2 have been so good but the only way GGG gets a fair shake is if it's held in his back garden with his family judging

I really don’t like Alvarez- the result and timing of this was inevitable years ago- il wait for GGG to get old because I can’t beat him in his prime

I like Canelo but I can’t bring myself to go any further than that.
The favourable decisions are bad enough but aren’t really his fault but the juicing is just bad darts

Re: Canelo v GGG II to be shown on BT Sport PPV
I mentioned above that I had Golovkin nicking it but I thought he was being outboxed in the majority of the first half, there was a point in ne of the middle rounds where I thought he might have hurt his right hand as he wasn't throwing it, Alvarez's shots were a lot more crisp and precise and had a lot more quality on them, he did fade though and IMO gave Golovkin the fight, no way was it a robbery though
People talk about Golovkin's chin but what a beard on Alvarez, both guys shipped punches last night that would've knocked a few fellas out or at the very least sent them down, Dan Rafael said it was a boring fight but I loved it, it was a fight of the highest quality

I had a clear win for GGG, he outlanded for the majority of most rounds. I scored it 117-112 with one even
Just think too much of GGGs consistent work was ignored. Jabs and short straight rights are scoring shots and GGG landed a LOT!!

Absolutely, GGG hardly missed with any of his shots either, I bet he well outlanded Canelo with shots that actually landed.
That scorecard you came out with tallies with the same as mine.
Re: Canelo v GGG II to be shown on BT Sport PPV
It was a brilliant fight imo. Was also a passing of the middleweight torch. When i seen Canelo hold the centre of the ring it was like a new sheriff in town. He boxed Golovkins ears off over the first 7 rounds imo. Golovkin really put it on him between 8 onwards but Canelo really proved his beard last night, not to mention his heart in coming out in r12 and winning what turned out to be the decisive round on the cards. Great fight.handsofstone wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 09:56 I mentioned above that I had Golovkin nicking it but I thought he was being outboxed in the majority of the first half, there was a point in ne of the middle rounds where I thought he might have hurt his right hand as he wasn't throwing it, Alvarez's shots were a lot more crisp and precise and had a lot more quality on them, he did fade though and IMO gave Golovkin the fight, no way was it a robbery though

Re: Canelo v GGG II to be shown on BT Sport PPV
I tipped Alvarez to win a close one on points but I thought with being smaller than last time he'd use his legs to box and counter Golovkin but as you said he took control of the middle of the ring and was beating Golovkin on the inside, GGG couldn't land in they early rounds with the same snap and precision as Alvarez was, I had him losing in the end but saw a lot from Canelo last night that proved some people wrongRKY wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 10:07It was a brilliant fight imo. Alvarez doesn't deserve much sympathy when it comes to scorecards but the cries of robbery are way off IMO, I had Golovkin winning both fights but Alvarez deserved this win more than he deserved the draw 1st time around
Re: Canelo v GGG II to be shown on BT Sport PPV
So there will now be a guaranteed 3rd fight, a decision for GGG next time will guarantee a 4th fight.
For me despite being some debatable rounds, the last round was clear and 2 judges gave it to Canelo!
With this round in the bank for GGG it would have been another draw.

Re: Canelo v GGG II to be shown on BT Sport PPV
When i watched it i had GGG winning and was furious with the result,it was GGG's fight easy but GGG was calling for a mexican fight telling canelo to nit run and give the fans a mexican fight.
Canelo gave the fans a mexican fight,GGG was on his back foot and nit really engaging till about round 7 or 8(but still winning rounds off the back foot). GGG lost that fight canelo didnt win it and,as someone said before the baggage that comes with canelo makes it difficult to warm to him but last night he came to fight and gave the fans a fantastic fight so props to canelo. Do i wanna see a 3rd fight? I dont know,GGG will be 6 months older and slower and in 2 fights he hasnt really hurt canelo so i dont see the point in a 3rd fight its the nsac, golden boy,hbo and canelo vs GGG he will never win.

I don't see how anyone can give the last round to GGG. One of the clearest canelo rounds in the entire fight.

Re: Canelo v GGG II to be shown on BT Sport PPV
I thought it was a fantastic fight & I sincerely enjoyed it but GGG must be cursing himself that he wasted his physical prime fighting Zimbabwean taxi drivers—I hated him back when the likes of Ishida & Kassim Ouma etc etc were the best on his record but last night he looked (to me, mind) shot to shite & it still took it to the wire versus a proven drug cheat nearly a decade younger who in both fights looked his physical superior (IMO, obviously).
I thought in both Alvarez fights Golovkin's limitations were exposed—his defence is perfect, but only 60% of the time (if that makes any sense), he's glacially slow & he can't get any torque at all on the right hand unless he's completely squared up (so badly I think he might actually have some sort of weird long-term shoulder injury). It's only his utter-rock hardness, awesome jab (undervalued in the scoring in both fights IMO, for opposite reasons in both bouts that make me feel like I'm in Bizarroworld) & great engine that still keeps him in fights, & it's just not enough against the top, top flight. The Jacobs fight was razor-thin, too.
But his physical decline is obvious. It's one thing to say "Yah he's fighting against better fighters" but DJ is a light-heavy these days & Ginger's on whatever racehorse steroids they use clen to mask & the difference between them is only measured in millimetres. & this is a pressure fighter in his late 30s, FFS. I don't care how clean you burn, pressure fighters do not last that long at top level.
In retrospect, he would've seriously fucked up the ageing Martinez (before or after SM's knees went IMO), hurt Cotto something rotten & even two/three years ago would've wiped the floor with Ginger.
I had the fight last night basically even but considered it the kind of drawish fight where if you had to give it so someone I thought Canelo looked the winner (if you know what I mean). The original I had 9-3 G & sneer at anyone who scores it closer than 8-4.
The physical decline of GGG—reflexes, speed, everything really—from last year was marked. Well done Canelo. I know what level he's always been at & got it in him so I'm not like "Oh wow" or anything, but respec' for taking part in a great fight, you Ginger drug-cheating weight-cheating little tyke, you.

Re: Canelo v GGG II to be shown on BT Sport PPV
So after two fights, what I have seen is two close and competitive contests with Alvarez winning both.
In the first contest, realistically a round or two either way cannot be argued with and the draw was absolutely fine. Alvarez was the boxer and fought a wonderful defensive contest, whilst Golovkin stalked and was the aggressor with an also excellent display, a high output but lower strike rate and lower quality offence. Had it not been for the ridiculous incompetence of Adelaide Byrd and her 10-2 score card there would be no talk of Golovkin being 'robbed', just a feeling that we had seen an excellent contest and we would love to see a rematch.
The second contest saw Alvarez respond to Golovkins challenge to 'fight like a Mexican' by spending the contest on the front foot, soaking up big shots and landing his own. A superb display with incredible head movement and countering whilst keeping his feet glued to the canvas. GGG again threw a lot of shots but had less success with the power shots and was never in command of the contest. A man famed for his ring generalship was 'outgeneralled'.
If Golovkin decides to continue boxing and a third fight is negotiated, of course I will watch it, but I have seen Alvarez outbox him and I have seen Alvarez outfight him. Both were close and competitive bouts but the answer to who is better has been answered twice - Alvarez is..... a bit.
I believe that the repeat of 'GGG was robbed' is mainly from people who had decided he would win before the contest had even started and that was in turn fuelled by a silly score card last time, HOWEVER if Adelaide Byrd had scored the first contest to Alvarez by only a round or two, it would still have been a draw and nobody with a brain in their head would have made any complaints. Secondly, winning by a couple of points in an undeniably close contest cannot by definition qualify as a robbery.
More important than any of that, is the fact that Golovkin is still REALLY the winner even in defeat, as he didn't have to wear that horrific 'special' WBC belt.
