I won't be surprised, if it happens. They are both old for the today's elite, but still credible against lower class opposition or obviously against each other. This fight can grab attention for sure, but most likely it won't be as big as the first one was. Or even as Floyd-Conor, it seemed to be a more unusual circus, than a meeting of two past-prime legends.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Returning this year to Fight Manny Pacquiao?
The fight would still generate money, I just don't think the casual fans care enough to make it as huge as the first fight, or the McGreg fight, as DrDuke stated above.

Me too. The biggest boxing travesty of recent memory. Unless you count May- McG, but that was easy to dodge.

May-Pac was a legit boxing fight. It was all good. It may have come late but it was a huge fight. All the media covered it.Thomastearns wrote: ↑15 Sep 2018, 09:40Me too. The biggest boxing travesty of recent memory. Unless you count May- McG, but that was easy to dodge.
However, the fight was crap. Straight up!
Now.. May-Mac was just a circus to start with.

Won't happen.
Mayweather isn't coming back.
He loves to play games with the public.
Remember when he was coming back as an MMA fighter? Then Mayweather was returning for another boxing match with McGregor.
Now it's Pacquiao again. It amuses Floyd to see how often the public and media bites.
I might lose my skepticism about all this if ODLH actually runs for president.

LMAO. I hope it happens just so I can bet thousands on Floyd again.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Returning this year to Fight Manny Pacquiao?
Historically-speaking, every time Showtime has ever covered a PPV event, someone affiliated with HBO's tries to overshadow it by making some sort of fictitious and headline-grabbing announcement!
This usually compels someone from Showtime's side of the proverbial "street" to retaliate whenever HBO covered their own PPV events.
These sort of "monumental", but ridiculous, announcements usually occur during fight week, prior to the bouts, which isn't a coincidence.
I strongly suspect that Mayweather is simply maintaining this long-time tradition!

You mean other way around since Mayweather is Showtime and GGG/Alvarez is HBO and only Floyd does this.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑15 Sep 2018, 13:22 Historically-speaking, every time Showtime has ever covered a PPV event, someone affiliated with HBO's tries to overshadow it by making some sort of fictitious and headline-grabbing announcement!

I remember a second tier WW named Manny Pacquiao, but who is Floyd Mayweather ?
Re: Floyd Mayweather Returning this year to Fight Manny Pacquiao?
F it, I'll buy it again. I've spend my money on worse. I'll continue to pay to see what i've always yearned for....Floyd Mayweather on the canvas. Manny, take the fight and pump 5xs more PEDs that JMM used to KO you. We know Floyd's go all sorts of PEDS pumping through him. 40 year old men don't have an Ab. Much less 6 of them. Only an idiot doesn't realize that Floyd's been on junk for years.

It's hardly a relevant fight... Makes absolutely zero sense... Both men are well passed it... Floyd's not worth another nine-figure purse unless he's comebacking against Vasyl Lomanchenko or Terrence Crawford.

I’ll bet they can both get a decent pay day for a fight no one really cares about. Sounds like it makes sense if your name is Mayweather or Pacquaio.

Covfefe... Sometimes fighters need to think what's best for the sport rather than themselves. Maybe if Pacquiao quit gambling and paid his damn taxes, and Mayweather stopped having an entourage and spending money on hookers and buying childish bling, they wouldn't have to keep taking up space in the sport.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Returning this year to Fight Manny Pacquiao?
The reality is that boxing has been moving on from floyd. He is a fading memory and he can't handle it. I think manny would beat him this time.

Regardless of the outcome it means Fckall at this point.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Returning this year to Fight Manny Pacquiao?
I'd watch it reluctantly.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Returning this year to Fight Manny Pacquiao?
This is part and parcel why I don't like Mayweather.
If he's going to fight again it should be a rematch with Canelo or GGG.
