Technical Boxers with Deadly KO Punching Power?
Present boxers?
Past boxers?
We see a lot of technical boxer vs. a knockout artist type fights..
There are a selection of boxers that posses both..
I'll start..
GGG
Rigo
Crawford (maybe not deadly, but punching power is there)
Young Floyd Mayweather Jr.

I'll take that..
Don't let the 'deadly' in the title put you off.. Groves is a decent shout. He might not have that 1 punch KO power, but he does carry that power I believe.

Re: Technical Boxers with Deadly KO Punching Power?
What is classed as a “technical boxer”?
Julian Jackson was fundamentally sound, he certainly wasn’t built in the mould of the early version of Nigel Benn (who was basically a brawler), but yet ‘The Hawk’ possessed bizarrely powerful one punch KO power.
For sure, Jackson wasn’t as talented skill-wise as a Pernell Whitaker or a Floyd Mayweather, which meant that he was out-boxed on occasion by supremely skilful fighters like Terry Norris, Herol ‘Bomber’ Graham and Mike ‘The Bodysnatcher’ McCallum, but there wasn’t much wrong with Julian’s technique and he also threw a wide array of shots.
Stephen "Breadman" Edwards classifies Julian Jackson as a “speed thudder”, because he’s one of the best puncher’s ever , as he was able to combine power, accuracy, technique and punch delivery, which I feel requires a lot of skill to execute.
Does anyone believe that Julian Jackson doesn’t have “Deadly KO Punching Power” and he was also fairly elusive against certain level of opposition, such as Thomas Tate?![[icon_e_confused.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)

adonis steve imo has been very underrated as a boxer, good hard jab, nice movement, and the left is very sharp on the counter. basic but very solid 'boxing'
and of course loads of power
and of course loads of power

also i dont think floyd was ever a big puncher, certanly not BIG. somehow him merely being a harder puncher lower down has turned into him being treated like he was actually some big ko banger. imo he was about an average hitter lower down, but his great accuracy and higher output meant he could break down and stop guys

Takashi Uchiyama, technically very solid and wasn't known as KO Dynamite for no reason

Povetkin has skills and good power not deadly though

Hearns, Hagler, younger DLH although he was big for his weight. If Julian Jackson is accepted then we can include Trinidad.
Although I don’t have much to go on I’d say the older charlo is fitting the bill. Of course ggg already mentioned.

Ray Leonard had a decent dig on him, as did RJJ.

Re: Technical Boxers with Deadly KO Punching Power?
I always felt that Roy Jones Jr. lacked boxing fundamentals, but a combination of his extraordinary physical attributes, coupled with his unorthodox fighting style, allowed him to achieve remarkable success.
I believe that the reason why Jones Jr’s career declined so rapidly, became a shot fighter seemingly overnight, was his failure to adapt his fighting style to cater for his own physical decline. He didn’t have the skills and ring IQ to fall back on, since he continuously tried to fight like the younger of himself against opponents’ whose athleticism was greater than his own.
Therefore, I don’t consider Roy Jones Jr. as a fundamentally sound fighter, so he cannot be classed as a “technical boxer”.

It depends on what you mean saying technical.
I mentioned Povetkin, I'll add Dariusz Michalczewski too - very good power, great jab and solid technical skills
