In today’s BN it says it’s on Saturday, October 13, 1:30 to 5:30pm. Venue is the new Dick Collins Hall, Robert Street, London NW1 3FB. (This is 300 metres from the original Dick Collins Hall). For more information it says to call Chas or Kimberley Taylor on 01707 654677 or 07956 912741.

It’s on page 44 of the BN if you have this week’s magazine .

Just had the missus saying we’ve not been to the capital for a while and saw this. Could kill two birds.
I’ve never been before, what could I expect? Not knowing any faces is it somewhere to just pop into for a bit and have a nosey?
Not really got any money to buy memorabilia so is it worth while to have a walk round or shouldn’t I bother? Thanks in advance!

It's always worth dropping in if you are about. There is a bar there so I tend have a look about (purchase a few books maybe) and hen have a few slurps.

It's not massive but it's a lovely atmosphere and Chas & Kimberley are great hosts.

You get some of the old boxers/referees come along aswell so a good chance for a chat.

I’ve been to two, though haven’t been for a few years. Met John Stracey, Mickey Vann, Michael Watson signed a copy of his book, and there were several other ex fighters there. It’s worth going - you’re likely to see some merchandise of interest and spot a few familiar faces who are usually happy to chat.

I was in Las V a few years back and went to a similar event at the Convention Centre. Attendees I can remember included Thomas Hearns, Roberto Duran, Leo Santa Cruz, Mike McCallum, Terry Norris, Sergio Martinez, Mia St John, plus many more I’ll recall ten seconds after I hit ‘submit this post’. Didn’t have the same easy going atmosphere of the Fayre but what a line up!

It would be nice if a poster who goes to this event puts some photos of the catalogue to show what was on show or for sale along with some photos of the items of memorabilia.

Chas and Kymberley are two great people who love their boxing and the personalities that make up the sport. They knew all the gossip before the boxing press ever got to hear of it.

Yes mate, Chas is an absolute gent. I once casually mentioned to him that I wasn't sure how to get out of Milton Keynes at the end of an amateur international there (England v Poland) and he escorted me out of the town in his black cab, which says it all. I suppose you could describe Chas as the last of the gym rats. He knew all the fighters, trainers, promoters and all the gossip. He told me a funny story about Randy Neumann, the American referee who came over in 1987 to handle the Terry Marsh world title win in Basildon. Randy had been over a decade earlier as a powerful heavyweight, walking through Billy Aird in real style but the years had not been particularly kind to Neumann. He took a cab at Heathrow and mentioned to the driver that he had fought Billy Aird. "You're too old to have fought Billy Aird!" came the reply.
