Keys to victory : Povetkin and Joshua

Post by chuck9788 »

What helpful tips would you give to both fighters to best win on Saturday?

Best bet for Povetkin is to attack the body aggressively early to wear down Joshua. Hopefully the bit of stamina issue he showed against Wlad will show again, and then Povetkin would need to be trying to bomb him out with overhand rights up top.

As for AJ, Povetkin is open for uppercuts a lot so he needs to have his uppercut game ready to go (we know it's in his arsenal as he dropped Wlad hard with one of 'em). Use the jab a lot, and stay out of range of Povetkin as best he can. He should be able to win fairly comfortably.

Sure Pov needs to get in close. I just hope they have an honest ref who will let them fight on the inside, because one of the boxing crooks' favorite ways to fix a fight is to instruct the house ref not to let them fight on the inside if the favored fighter is taller.

Size and jab for Joshua.

Variable combinations and chin for Povetkin.

Power for both.

Joshua needs to stay away. The most difficult part for Povetkin will be delivering of his combos. Those are deadly, but he obviously must be inside to score them. In the exchange I'd favour Povetkin, his chin seems to be better. I guess, Joshua and his camp have similar opinion, so I expect AJ to outbox Povetkin from the outside, but as a long-time Sasha fan I hope, that Vityaz will catch him.

Povetkin goes out early. Doesn't matter what he tries.

After 2 less than scintillating performances, Joshua wants to make a statement.

Especially now that Wilder and Fury have taken the spotlight away from him.

Povetkin's aging, shaky legs survived Price, thanks to the Brit's even shakier chin.

Povetkin won't be that fortunate against Joshua as he topples from punches trying to get inside.

i think gilgamesh nailed it in the first response. body shots for sasha. distance for joshua. of course joshua could possibly just blast him away.

to consider. povetkin is better than takam who gave joshua issues. hes a seasoned pro with decent power and timing.

the big issues are size and age. povetkin was too small for klitschko. and can a 39 year old seize control of the division v a dominant champ? the future is joshua anyhow. but a worthy contender with some good ability. an upset? unlikely but stranger things have happened.

I have a feeling this will be an early night. Joshua by KO in the first 3.

Keys for Povetkin: Take some supplements that increases his size, muscle mass, physical strength, weight, height and reach that is bare minimum, equal to Anthony Joshua and something that also decreases / rewinds the effects of aging.

Keys for Joshua: Just turn up (at whatever condition he wants) and land just a few grazing punches to literally KO the much smaller, weaker and unqualified HEAVYWEIGHT to sleep. It's as simple as that!

This is nothing but an otherworldly, an astronomical, a disgraceful and an inhumane mismatch against the blown up cruiser weight / light heavyweight that is Alexander Povetkin who also happens to be at an ancient, totally shot age.

Ladies and gentlemen. Be wary of the graphic scenes that will emerge when Anthony Joshua almost literally decapitates the astronomically smaller and weaker Povetkin's body. It will be as gruesome, gross, scary, terrifying and disgusting as the most gruesome scenes you'd see from HORROR movies.

This fight is seriously pathetic, and should never take place for the safety of the much smaller fighter! It's as good as human rights violation!

Good post.

However, I do not think that Povetkin can execute it without hurting AJ very early.

Povetkin needs to pressure AJ from the start and fight at a high work rate he's not going to out jab AJ his best bet is come out with effective pressure and catch AJ of course this will leave him open to walking into AJs power and get KOd himself .for AJ pump the jab to soften up provkin the drop the right hand on povetkin . The only way I see AJ tripping up is if he stands and slugs with povetkin and gets caught in an exchange.

Joshua looks cool and relaxed after his gladiatorial entrance.

Sky don't seem to be too interested in showing us Povetkin.
