What's next for Povetkin?

Povetkin, who is 39 now, has just lost to Joshua, as it was predicted by many, but in a that kind of fight, that almost nobody was expecting. Povetkin was really good early, he was composed and sharp. Probably the biggest question he left is about his stamina, as he was slowing down in the last rounds before he was caught with a one-two and the following punishment. So, what's your opinion about possible Sasha's future? Is he still credible? Does he still have a championship potential? What drawbacks does he have now, age, stamina or whatever? Should he retire?

Yeah, he is still credible and extremely dangerous, so it looks like he'll get the shot only in a case of becoming a mandatory. Nobody from the top will be eager to face him and risk either. Probably he should return home indeed, have some fights there and then it'll be more clear.

Well if they still can't make Joshua vs Wilder. Let him fight Wilder (if by chance he beats Fury or if the fight happens). He would have a good shot of knocking out Wilder in my book. Wilder really hasn't faced much top level comp. Love his wild power but not convinced in any manner that he is the best out there. Joshua and some of the young bucks coming up I believe will knock him out. Fury could well outbox him if he fully prepares. Guys who are absolutely out on their feet to Harold Sconiers are always at risk of being knocked out. First lets see if Wilder vs Fury. Fun match ups all over at heavyweight.

Who fights for the WBA "regular" joke belt now that Charr failed drug test? Hopefully no one.

Povetkin was much better than many of the champions, but so were a lot of fighters in the boxing history. Harry Wills, George Benton and many others.

The fights against Ortiz, Parker, Whyte, Miller or Breazeale might be competitive, but I can not imagine any of them really happen.

Neither Kuzmin nor Tischenko will ever come close to Povetkin's level. Gassiev at HW more likely, but still don't think he will do well against such huge and powerful monsters. Povetkin is just better boxer.

ya he should either retire or have a goodbye fight thats heavily stacked in his favour. although i tend to think the actual fighters who are making the money and taking the shots care way less about going out on a win then the fans do. and dude got paid very well.

basically i think its pretty much the right time for him to bow out. ya he looked pretty solid and like he could still beat some contenders, but continuing on until you are shot and can no longer put in those respectable showings is how guys get hurt and take unneccesary damage. right now or with 1 more win is the perfect time to go out in tact and with dignity

such a shame we never got to see that roided pov vs wilder fight back in 2015. wouldve been awesome.
