Retire

Might as well go out like Wlad did on a solid losing effort than keep going and end up humiliated at some point.

He was ahead of my cards, fought well. He's not going to beat AJ or Wilder. He's old and only going to decline. Retire.

Povetkin made Joshua look like a bum. Plenty of money to be made if he wants it.

I would like to see him fight the Wilder/Fury loser, or maybe Miller or Whyte, but I think the most likely path is a couple more years crushing cans in Russia, followed by retirement.

Joshua puts enough power in short punches to get anyone in trouble, wilder loads up like a motherfucker, ortiz had him out on his feet, got caught, we know what happened. povetkin can end wilder's hype-job of a career after fury beat him up all night long. Fury -Joshua will crown the real king of the divison.

I'd like to see him take on Usyk assuming he beats Bellew.
Matchup suits both fighters - small hw for Usyk to show us how he boxes against a natural - top tier hw and whether he is credible challenger to AJ, whereas Usyk isn't looking like being a puncher at hw so Povetkin would carry some advantages into the fight.
Both at transitional times regarding hw so a great fight.

Also the Russia/Ukraine angle should help shift tickets if it needed an angle!

Usyk destroys Povetkin worse than Joshua did. Seriously, it'd only expose Joshua's win to be even worse.

Usyk would win by wide decision (119-109 or 118-110).

Im not so sure after Povetkin's performance vs AJ. remember that even Briedis gave Usyk some troubles.

..I've a big question mark regarding Usyk power as a heavyweight..it surely doesn't come anywhere close to that of AJ's..

Perfomance vs AJ ? The worst outcome for Povetkin, devastating TKO, although I think Povetkin won at least four rounds before the seventh round. Usyk is in his prime, simply I can not imagine tha way for Sasha's victory.

Ortiz bout mentionings were good. I like this matchup. Both Povetkin and Ortiz teams should like it. Both of them have just blown their title opportunities. Both of them are old and thus have troubles with gas tanks. Two boogeymen of the division in equal circumstances considering their careers. It could have been a short and entertaining slugfest, which would have grabbed fans' attention.

Funny thing is, that despite there is no price on the table, I wouldn't be surprised if Ortiz actually makes more money against him compared to Ortiz his fight with Wilder.

Povetkin should easely win that fight, by KO in round 1 or 2.
I agree that it is the most interesting fight. However, Povetkin would not win easily.

Maybe let both juicers do their thing and see which 🦖 prevails.

The thing is that a devastating ko loss vs Usyk seems unlikely. Sure Usyk possibly outpoints current Povetkin but i think it's unlikely that Pov gets only 1 or 2 rounds. There is still a question about Usyk chin - i dont suspect he's chinny but who knows how he reacts if someone like Povetkin caughts him. I give 55% chances to Usyk outpoint him, 35% Povetkin by KO, 10% Povetkin PTS.

Gassiev arguably punches much harder than Povetkin and Usyk had no problems taking Gassiev's punches on his chin.

You really believe that Gassievs punches harder than Povetkin? And other thing is that Povetkin gets inside much much better, throws combinations from many different angles. Povetkin punches harder and has better abilities to caught someone with a deadly punch. I cant even imagine Gassiev getting inside vs AJ.

Gassiev knocked Jordan Shimmell out unconscious for near 10 minutes, if not longer with one left hook in the first round, and that was the first and only punch he landed clean in the entire fight.

Find me one KO Povetkin has, that is anywhere near as brutal or devastating as that KO.

Povetkin lacks power and that's one of his weaknesses in reality.
