Oquendo: WBA Should Do The Right Thing, Crown Me Champion

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

"The WBA should do the right thing and crown me champion. I shouldn't be punished for something I'm doing right, which is not cheating," Oquendo said on social media.

I kinda agree they should just hand it out to him. But then again, this is the WBA.. they want $$!! Sanctioning fee’s is what they’ll get.

Allowing their own rules to be repeatedly broken by Team Chagaev is the sole cause for the WBA's current predicament with Oquendo, so they should learn from their mistakes and refrain from allowing an inactive fighter that hasn't fought for more than four years, possessing a losing record, to be automatically elevated as one of their world champions.

Instead, the WBA should pay Oquendo financial damages to compensate him for all the shît they put him through.

However, they'd rather give Oquendo a world title fight, where they can load their own pockets. Clever eh?

If the WBA declares him champion, they can still get sanctioning fees in his first title defense. It’s a minor belt now, so why not just give Oquendo the belt and be done with it?

After all the years this ancient guy has waited for a chance to win a flimsy crown, it would seem nice for the WBA to hand him the title.

Does anyone know why the WBA is obsessed with making Oquendo fight for the regular title instead of having him face the super champion Joshua or Klitschko in the past.

He wants them to just hand him the belt because he knows that's the only way he'll ever get it. They ain't gonna be able to dig up a corpse dead enough for him to actual win it.

Has it been confirmed that the 'BA is going to strip Charr of the "regular" belt for pissing hot? If so, then the solution is easy, just give Oquendo a shot at the newly crowned 'BA interim champion, Trevor Bryan with the winner becoming the "regular" champ. It's not the same as just being handed a belt but at least Fres won't have to go overseas to fight for it what with Bryan being American.

WBA should create another version of the title. They should call it "Waiting champion". Inactive for 4 years Oquendo, who had several cancelled fights in a row, truly deserves such a title.

Is Oquendo taking responsibility for when his team won the purse bid earlier this year and were unable to pull off the fight?

Any legit reason that Oquendo hasn't bothered to take even one tuneup fight in preparation for this aborted matchup?

He's 45 and hasn't fought in more than 4 years. Not rest. Rust. And plenty of it.

Isn't it possible that he'll look like Ali vs Holmes, even if Fres' competition is a bit weaker.

Honestly I think it will be worse than Ali-Holmes.
He hasn't beat a ranked oponent in over a decade. He will get hurt against any live hungry fighter.
And if they put him in with a powerful puncher like Whyte,Chisora or Joyce he could be permanently hurt.

Literally wtf

This is a goddamn boxing forum and people think an inactive guy who lost his last fight should be just handed the title of "World Heavyweight Champion" (crap version or not, it would go into history books) without throwing a single punch

Absolute fcking clowns here.

Someone pitched the idea of matching him with Trevor Bryan the "Interim" Champion to crown a Regular Champion...that seems sensible enough to me.

Bryan would beat his ass, and that'd be the end of it.
