Eubank Jr: So it's happening again?
Eubank Jr: So it's happening again?
Like after the Saunders fight, going to fight a bunch of cherrypicked and limited opponents, people will go on about how improoved he is, and how he'd likely win a rematch, and then he'll step up and get exposed a third time. Or will everyone have learned?
Re: Eubank Jr: So it's happening again?
learned my lesson, just too limited skill wise for the top tier.
the big thing is the lack of improvement. he was taking a big step up vs far more experienced bjs, and he fought him very closely and dominated the second half. youd think a guy a green guy who then gets in a lot more fights and training would defo improve technically and strategically, but im really not sure he did at all, and vs bigger guys at 168 im not sure hes the same physical presence either.

I think the success he did have against BJS was mostly just because of Saunders's terrible stamina.jamamb wrote: ↑28 Sep 2018, 15:05 learned my lesson, just too limited skill wise for the top tier.

Nah I definitely won't be expecting him to win at the top level the next time, but I don't doubt he'll get a 3rd crack at it.
Re: Eubank Jr: So it's happening again?
Don't ever believe he'll be considered an elite fighter but he'll keep getting opportunities based on his surname and because against lesser opponents (like tonight) he looks destructive.

Good fighter.
Gets slagged off far too much.
He's got talent.

After the groves fight I won’t fall for it again. I think he’s a fake honestly.

Re: Eubank Jr: So it's happening again?
I like how he spoke tonight and whether I see him as a credible world level fighter again or not, I'll look forward to his next right more than I would have done before tonight.
Re: Eubank Jr: So it's happening again?
Judging by his interview with Kugan the other day I think there might be some changes in his training set up coming soon. And as for the opponent for this fight, don't think it was ever going to be competitive, they just wanted someone cheap so they could have Eubank as a reserve in case the main event fell through. Ultimately think it'll be too late for any changes that'll allow him to bridge the gap to the truly world class boxers.

Story doing the rounds that McDonagh quit as a betting scam.
Re: Eubank Jr: So it's happening again?
Eubank can't cut it at the higher levels and he never will be able too
Re: Eubank Jr: So it's happening again?
He hasn’t got loads of talent for boxing, he has good physical genes and to his credit lives the life and his dedication to fitness and conditioning is immense
Cos of this, if he ever faces a static targets that isn’t up to it physical, he will look a million bucks
As for boxing talent, well he’s got no jab or footwork, it’s not a good start, but he can brawl
I agree he shouldn’t be at 168 where he gives away his physicality. Groves absolutely dominated him in a boxing sense and physically. Eubank jnr touches down in that fight but it wasn’t given. Eubank snr said groves man handled him. It was a lesson
Now groves has just been taken on physically by smith. How would little Eubank cope with that.
At 160 he has a good chance of mixing it near the top so long as he’s not facing an elite boxer
At 168 he needs very smart match making. Ie if they got the zeuge fight when he was champion or something like that. If they find a weak link with a belt it’s not out the question he could be champ

Thought he looked bigger last night, and more physically mature.

Whatever what it’s dressed up, he has physical gifts but not particularly technical gifts
