Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - 1 December 2018
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - 1 December 2018
its a good point, how effective is this ben guy gonna be when furys not having things his way? and if fury is doing well can this guy keep him focused and honed in vs a guy who can turn things instantly?
any of us couldve trained fury to wins over the last two
the more i think of this, the more i think a wilder win is almost certain. its really a great move for wilder, imo not even that high risk yet now he can claim hes lineal 'real' champ (as much as i dont agree that he would be) and it defo helps boost his profile, esp in uk

Anyone else feel the "shove" was pre planned?
I did like the wilder one backstage of GMTV. Why does he keep hiding behind a little man. (Am assuming that's Frank) when Shelly finkel is stood next to him.
I can't buy into the beef. It's is faker than a hearn desperate PPV

Fury trying as hard as he can to wind up Wilder and the presenter trying to calm them down it was just comical to me. I still cant work out if I like the BT Sport presenter, seems so amateur and reminds me of Alan Partridge a bit.

Before the show they undoubtedly got together and went over and rehearsed each and every insult and retort.
So yeah, the shove was planned. In wrestling, it would be referred to as a "work."

It just makes a mockery of it all it me. That’s why Froch-Groves was so great - Groves was doing it just to get under Froch’s skin, but Froch clearly fvcking hated him for it.nitro5912 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2018, 02:37It just makes a mockery of it all it me. Walsh-Lowe Rematch is Off, Lowe To Fight on Wilder-Fury Card
British featherweight champion Ryan Walsh (22-2-2, 11 KOs) will not be defending his title against Isaac Lowe (15-0-3, 5 KOs) on November 10 in Manchester.
The pair had been mooted to face one another on Eddie Hearn’s October 27 card at Copper Box in London but was then confirmed for the Oleksandr Usyk-Tony Bellew undercard next month.
After much clamouring for the fight from Lowe the 24-year-old from Morecambe has seemingly opted instead for a spot on the Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury undercard on December 1 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.
Fury has been a huge influence on Lowe’s career and is credited with stopping his friend from quitting the sport in the past.
Lowe took to Twitter yesterday and wrote: “I just want to say I’m very sorry to the fans and the Walsh team for pulling out of this fight. I really did want to beat Ryan and put the draw right and get that British belt, but I had a chance to fulfil a lifelong dream to box in America on the world’s biggest heavyweight fight.
More details soon. This is just something I could not turn down. Hopefully I win this fight and it will set me up for some big fights next year and hopefully me and Ryan can get it on again.”
The British champion responded with his own Tweet: “Any featherweights. I have a date, I have a venue, I need an opponent. Contact Matchroom Boxing.”

The Walsh-Lowe rematch was a decent scrap for the Usyk-Bellew card.

Exactly. There hasn't been one of those the gloves are off with the same level of tension.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑02 Oct 2018, 04:14That’s why Froch-Groves was so great - Groves was doing it just to get under Froch’s skin, but Froch clearly fvcking hated him for it.nitro5912 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2018, 02:37It just makes a mockery of it all it me. Groves was nervous, froch was steely, Nelson was pooping himself at it genuinely going off.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - 1 December 2018
Wilder said something to the effect of that he was up a bit if friendly banter, but now Fury has gone too far and Fury is gonna get it. My observations were there was no real natural beef up until that point, and it had to be forced to get it going. But the end result was that Wilder was rattled. Fury had done his job. The end result was clearly real. I think Wilder started thinking it's all a gameshow, and ended up feeling quite insulted.
Let's not debate the "is it real beef" bollocks. These 2 men are at the top of their division, and will fight for #1 status in the HW division.
There is no doubt that this wont be a tickling contest. Fury will try to box Wilders head off, and Wilder will try and render Fury unconscious. You can't fake that sh!t!

NY presser is going to start in minutes.

If that was a press-conference, than where were the questions?

furys done 0 of worth in the last 3 years and his overall resume isnt even that strong anyway, he has the win over wlad, while aj has beaten wlad, povetkin, parker, whyte, takam, breazeale, etc. hell, kevin johnson might be a top 5 opponent for fury.
the state of a division doesnt freeze just for one guy just for 1 fight. fury was at the top but let it slide hard and come fight time hell have faced no top 70 opponent in over 3 years.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - 1 December 2018
Tyson in top form
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - 1 December 2018
He's been out for 2 an half years out of that 3 yea though? How could he beat top 70 opponents when he wasn't fighting?jamamb wrote: ↑02 Oct 2018, 13:45nah, no #1 without ajSAPFO wrote: ↑02 Oct 2018, 11:21 Wilder said something to the effect of that he was up a bit if friendly banter, but now Fury has gone too far and Fury is gonna get it. lol not fighting is not fighting
a division keeps going when one guy sits on his his ass. it passed fury by and now he needs to work his way back to being the top guy.he ballooned and did drugs. he did nothing of note in the boxing ring and his comeback fights are of pretty much no value either.
him somehow being defaulted to being the top guy or two because he beat wlad over 3 years ago come fight time is stupid. in that same time aj has built a far stronger resume then fury has. wilder too has done much more. acting like fury has somehow been frozen into the top spot or two is stupid and just rewards inactivity and gluttony.
fury is by far the weakest link of aj, wilder, and fury right now. the clear #1, absolute man, isnt decided without ajs involvment. aj-wilder is the top fight too, not wilder-fury.

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - 1 December 2018
Yeah but its double standards. The division doesn't freeze because Fury wasn't fighting but at the same time it shouldn't freeze because Aj won't fight Wilder.
Fair play to Fury for taking the wilder fight after 2 years out. If he beats Wilder then I'm sure everybody will change their tune in whether Fury is still up in the top 3 or not.
There is far too much bullshit these days. Why does Aj only fight twice a year? Why is it so hard to make Aj Wilder yet Fury made the fight in a matter of days even if it was officially announced weeks later? Surely nobody with a serious interest in boxing believes what Matchroom are saying except for the arse kissers on twitter?
Wilder seems genuinely pissed off that Aj wouldn't fight him he doesn't seem like somebody that didn't want the fight

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - 1 December 2018
aj-wilder not happening yet hasnt made the division freeze. ajs this year still unified and then fought a top contender, and fury-wilders happening. fury winning gets him back a huge amount of credit but i simply dont buy that hes (or wilder) at a point now where the outcome of that fight determines the #1, the man of the division. things have changed to much in the time since fury beat wlad for fury to have high enough a place for that, and wilder himself is still short on ajs resume
basically, wilder-fury boosts the winner, and then that guy is clearly the guy who aj must beat if aj wants to be the hw kingpin,, and ajs the guy they must beat for the same honor.

The way I see it is Fury -Wilder winner fights AJ, and the winner of that is the absolute undisputed number 1 heavyweight on the planet. If you had to arrange a would be brace/series of fights with a semi final and final between the three, given recent form, Joshua is the man to get a bye to the final.

The New York press conference...
Difficult to watch. Got to blame the organisers for trying to copy the Mayweather/McGregor thing, and that was awful! This is just a cheap knock off.
I was watching it thinking how the great heavyweights of yesteryear would have dealt with that arrangement.
Bollocks like that will turn people away if anything!
