Artur Beterbiev vs Callum Johnson

Post by diddy »

Just watched some tape of Johnson. Dude stands and trades the whole time. Yeah thats not gonna work against Beterbiev. He's going to get hurt in there. Beterbiev can be beaten by boxing and moving. You dont stand in front of that beast.

At this point in time, Artur Beterbiev’s career trajectory is more similar to Matt Korobov’s than Sergey Kovalev’s. Maybe he'll be able to turn things around, but it won't be easy. I'm not saying Beterbiev is rubbish, instead I'm suggesting that he's an underachiever.

Beterbiev is underachiever for a different reason than Korobov, Khytrov and some other amateur stars who just aren't that good in pro. Beterbiev's two main problems are his Canadian promoter and his "adviser" who don't match him in accordance with his abilities. For example, if they allowed him to face Kovalev a couple years ago, his career could have taken a totally different turn with potential Ward and Stevenson fights.
