Sturm/Martinez/Quillin / Chavez Jr fighting GGG in 2012- how it would've panned out ?
It's a real pity that these fights didn't happen. It would've been good fighs. At that time GGG was much younger and aggressive.

ggg prob wouldve beaten quillin/chavez/sturm. of course since its ggg were talking about, his wins are merely hypothetical and he never actually fought them
prime sergio, i think he could beat ggg. although, his prime (williams and pavlik wins i guess) seemed pretty short.

Yeah, Martinez had a short period of prime but those 2 wins were good. I think the only fighter that GGG would've went 12 rounds is Chavez Jr, probably a large UD. The rest of fighters would've been stopped by GGG.jamamb wrote: ↑05 Oct 2018, 14:42 ggg prob wouldve beaten quillin/chavez/sturm. of course since its ggg were talking about, his wins are merely hypothetical and he never actually fought them

All those mw champions from that time avoided GGG when he was young.
Re: Sturm/Martinez/Quillin / Chavez Jr fighting GGG in 2012- how it would've panned out ?
Golovkin would have beaten them all comfortably. Martinez' speed and style might have made the first few rounds interesting but Golovkin would still have took over. Probably stops the first 3. Maybe stops Chavez, maybe dominates for 12.

Sergio is one of my favorites, but he has very poor defense to handle GGG. Still. i give him best chance from these 4jamamb wrote: ↑05 Oct 2018, 14:42 ggg prob wouldve beaten quillin/chavez/sturm. of course since its ggg were talking about, his wins are merely hypothetical and he never actually fought them

Golovkin beats them all easy.

Martinez would definitely have had the best chance, but Golovkin would have got to him eventually. The others all get brutalised.

Golovkin wouldlve dealt with them simple as that
He was avoided in them times

Martinez barely survived Chavez Jr. Golovkin would be way too much for him.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑05 Oct 2018, 17:08 Martinez would definitely have had the best chance, but Golovkin would have got to him eventually. The others all get brutalised.

Martinez would've taken a worse whooping than what he took against Cotto. The rest also lose to Golovkin. Golovkin is a better MW than Martinez.

Yeah GGG's fundamentals, timing and power would've been too much for Sergio. Contrary I think Chavez Jr would've given a good fight to GGG due of his toughness and size.

I think so. Also the 2012 versions of Chavez Jr and GGG would've made an interesting fight.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑05 Oct 2018, 17:27Martinez barely survived Chavez Jr. Golovkin would be way too much for him.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑05 Oct 2018, 17:08 Martinez would definitely have had the best chance, but Golovkin would have got to him eventually. Definitely.tiny_acres wrote: ↑05 Oct 2018, 20:33I'm not even a huge fan of GGG. But he was something special. He beats them all.
And his legacy would of been way better than what it is.
He was definitely avoided

Martinez at his best was a level above all of those for me, but I agree that the other 5 were all of a similar level.apollo creed wrote: ↑06 Oct 2018, 03:10I think Sturm, Quillin and Martinez were pretty much on a par with fighters like Murray, Lee and Daniel Geale.

Nah, it would be a one-sided beating like it happened in their sparring.apollo creed wrote: ↑06 Oct 2018, 03:01I think so. There are currently running threads where canelo superstar is praised into hypothetically beating everybody at middleweight plus the best of the current smw-division while GGG who beat canelo twice is supposed to struggle against maravilla? If anything a prime martinez would pose a stiff task to canelo, as prime sturm would. Prime GOLOVKIN would definitely pound martinez into submission and most probably knock him out in eight, to suggest that he would need more than six to put away quilin/sturm/chavez i would consider trolling.

The funny thing is even Sturm, Martinez and Quillin ducked each other at that time. LOL Only Martinez fought Chavez Jr . to get a fat payday.

Yeah, it's a shame how terrible the MW division was at the time. I don't think Martinez could even be a title holder in this current era. Hell, Sulecki probably beats him.apollo creed wrote: ↑07 Oct 2018, 01:43 The funny thing is even Sturm, Martinez and Quillin ducked each other at that time.
