What’s happening - any signs of Arge in the crowd?
Re: Round-by-Round: Jack Catterall vs. Ohara Davies - 6 October 2018

Oh he's here every night !
118-110 ?!
WHAT a let down - shoulda been 108-108
Re: Round-by-Round: Jack Catterall vs. Ohara Davies - 6 October 2018
I wonder if Davies will do a youtube video on why he was so negative he would have won that if he was a bit more active given two judges had it 7 rounds to 5.

Re: Round-by-Round: Jack Catterall vs. Ohara Davies - 6 October 2018
i can see a trilogy here
Re: Round-by-Round: Jack Catterall vs. Ohara Davies - 6 October 2018
tbh i can see how a judge would score it 118-110, it was basically the same thing over and over, so if they had a preference for what catteral was doing it could lead to a wide card

Wtf didn't Davies let his right hand go ?
I reckon the Taylor defeat has shredded any ounce of confidence he had .

any one staying up for conor
Re: Round-by-Round: Jack Catterall vs. Ohara Davies - 6 October 2018
ya i agree, that was really what the little difference was too imo, catteral just a bit more willing to let his 'power' shots go and scored with a bit more
Re: Round-by-Round: Jack Catterall vs. Ohara Davies - 6 October 2018
I don't like staying up for fights these days as the body has a hangover next day rather get up at 5am. UFC main card doesnt start will 3am and if all fights go the distance main event won't be till 5.30-6

Re: Round-by-Round: Jack Catterall vs. Ohara Davies - 6 October 2018
Fvck me that was tough, I had Catterall nicking it 115-114 with no conviction whatsoever, I could've easily scored it 108-108 as both guys were fcvking dreadful, both lazy, both cautious, both one paced and both lacking boxing brains tonight, Davies has never had a high ring IQ but Catterall does have something about him but he looks like he fights the wrong fight a lot of the time, he's much better when he's aggressive and pressing the action, Davies too is better when forcing things but his right hand must still be plastered to the jaw of Paul Kamenga because it was MIA tonight, just incredible that he never let it go at all
He didn't even compensate by throwing many good lefts apart from some nice jabs here and there, Catterall came over with some nice left hands but he was poor too, neither guy wins against a solid European level fighter IMO, what were they thinking in there tonight? that was woeful

Re: Round-by-Round: Jack Catterall vs. Ohara Davies - 6 October 2018
had Catterall by decision and Woodstock by KO in a double. Sharps the better boxer by a mile but I think Woodstock will make it his fight by midway and out gun him
Re: Round-by-Round: Jack Catterall vs. Ohara Davies - 6 October 2018
it was close i think if ohara had more heart and bottle he could of won that fight, showed he aint, also i dont catterall will be a top bracket fighter , i think josh Taylor is a brilliant fighter levels above both fightershandsofstone wrote: ↑06 Oct 2018, 18:53 Fvck me that was tough, I had Catterall nicking it 115-114 with no conviction whatsoever, I could've easily scored it 108-108 as both guys were fcvking dreadful, both lazy, both cautious, both one paced and both lacking boxing brains tonight, Davies has never had a high ring IQ but Catterall does have something about him but he looks like he fights the wrong fight a lot of the time, he's much better when he's aggressive and pressing the action, Davies too is better when forcing things but his right hand must still be plastered to the jaw of Paul Kamenga because it was MIA tonight, just incredible that he never let it go at all

cat seems like a euro level guy to me. decent boxer but not sure he really has the raw tools to make it beyond that.

Dismal stuff from both, especially ohara.
Re: Round-by-Round: Jack Catterall vs. Ohara Davies - 6 October 2018
Trouble is Davies can't change his style and didn't have a plan B. Not sure if FW will stick around with him. Mick Hennessy needs a few more boxers.
Re: Round-by-Round: Jack Catterall vs. Ohara Davies - 6 October 2018
To be fair to Davies, he isn't normally a boring fighter. It takes two to tango (or not). Maybe those two just don't gel. That can happen.

This is better - a fight !
