Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
At this moment in time Joshua has to be considered the head of the division.
His resume is the strongest and he holds 4 organisations top belt.
No matter who wins the Wilder v Fury fight, they will still be viewed by most as a man who ‘might be able to beat the champion’.

I think there is a case for either
but I'm thinking neither till they get it on

Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
there would be no 'man' in the division , from a competitive standpoint at least. fury and aj would then have to fight to decide an absolute clear 1
if were just arguing a 'normal' ordering, not saying one is the clear man but having to rank one above the other, as it stands, aj easily has the best resume, but i think fury would have a claim if he beat wilder to having the two top wins

If wilder loses to fury then fury is the number 2 in the division until he faces AJ plus some of the other challengers.
No point winning then fornicating off back on a cocaine binge.
Joshua has the stronger resume, majority of the recognised belts.
Also as the ring magazine don't see wilder as the present number 1 then whoever wins will still be second.

Joshua, definitely.
Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
No doubt. He's active. He fights top contenders. He is genuinely interested in legacy rather than just talking sh1t about it.
I'm actually surprised the question needs an answer.

It's a dream scenario. Because Wilder will destroy Fury.

Joshua would still be seen as number one.
The pressure would be firmly on him to prove it against the Wilder v Fury winner though.

Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
Id say Fury because he's went to the US and beaten a guy that AJ and his team looked to have ducked but officially it would probably be AJ as top boy..
Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
Would depend on the nature of the victory as well I suppose...
Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
Yeah Fury would be able to say that he'd won two World titles against the belt holders away from home which would be a good achievement. Good point.
Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
Fury because he is lineal champion, and his best win, Klit, was a better result than Joshua's best win, Klit.
Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
being lineal champ is no more impressive then winning the fight you won to become champ
so ya, you can say fury might have the best win, but him being lineal champ is essentially just that win, i dont really see any good basis to treat this 'lineal status' and the wlad win like its two accomplishments that independently add to his case for the top spot. the whole idea of a lineal champ being locked into a top spot pretty much regardless of what anyone else in the division does is stupid too
fury at the moment has best wins over wlad, chisora, hammer, and cunningham. beating wilder would hugely strengthen his resume and add much needed depth to it, regardless what labels/baubel is on the line. if he beats wilder, f@ck the whole lineal crap, just go with the feasible argument that hed have the best 2 wins of any hw
still though, the winner of this needs to fight aj for any of the 3 to be the absolute man of the division

Joshua will still be no.1 and his resume shows this, yes fury beat klitschko but joshua stopped a more aggressive klitschko, other than klitschko who else has fury beat? Chisora? Cunningham? Joshua has beaten Parker Povetkin Brazeale Molina Takam Whyte, all world top ten fighters, who on furys record is better than any of these 6 fìghters? I can't find one so for me Joshua will still be no.1

Tyson fury
Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
Joshua on resume. But IF Fury's regained enough shape to beat Wilder I would make him a narrow favourite over Joshua
Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
All this lineal crap, michael spinks was lineal champ and what did that get him? Ktfo thats what it got him
Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
I think he'd box Joshua ears off if he's back on form
Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
You could well be right mate
Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
Prior to the Povitkin win, I would have said Fury edged it. After Povitkin I voted Joshua on resume.
It was a good win too.
Fury having beaten Klitchco and Wilder doesn't beat Parker, Whyte, Takem, Povitkin and knocking Klitchko out.

Re: If Fury beats Wilder, who is Number 1
Yes mate he does but like you say fury could make him chase shadows for 12 rounds and the beginning of the Joshua vs Klitschko showed hiw to beat Joshua, fury has the reach height and movement to give Joshua kittens
