Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Could Boxrec add an option for "Central Asia" in the Schedule page, which collectivizes all the scheduled events from the countries of: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan?
Would be nice to see all the events from that region with one click of a button.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Hi boxrec team you should change the wba column list on the champions page.
There are a lot of mistakes, you display Charr as the WBA champion but the champion is Joshua.
Same for Gassiev, Grooves, Golovkin, Hurd, Thurman, Lomachenko, Davis, Santa Cruz, Burnett and Taguchi.
Please correct that.

Joshia isn't the ordinary WBA World Champion he is the Super WBA World Champion http://boxrec.com/en/title/43/Heavyweightizabelisk wrote: ↑19 May 2018, 05:10 Hi boxrec team you should change the wba column list on the champions page.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Yes I know that, so the super champion should be listed not the regular. It's like to say that the WBA recognizes Charr as the best boxer of the world instead of Joshua. Everybody knows that the WBA recognizes Joshua as the best boxer. The WBA regular title is more like the WBC silver.John wrote: ↑19 May 2018, 06:43Joshia isn't the ordinary WBA World Champion he is the Super WBA World Champion http://boxrec.com/en/title/43/Heavyweightizabelisk wrote: ↑19 May 2018, 05:10 Hi boxrec team you should change the wba column list on the champions page.

So please boxrec put the right boxer on the WBA column. (WBA super champion in priority).

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
More other after five title defenses the WBA champion becomes WBA super champion. So what happens with boxrec in this situation ? Is the champion In the WBA column marked as "vacant" ? If yes, that has no sens. New comer will think that there is no WBA champion.izabelisk wrote: ↑19 May 2018, 13:15Yes I know that, so the super champion should be listed not the regular. So boxrec, you should display the WBA super champion in priority. Don't display the WBA super champions is like to say that the WBA super world title has no value comparing to the other world title. For example in the batamweight, we don't see Brunett on the list of the world champions, it's like to say that Brunett is not a world champion.
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Create a database for fans to create their own scorecards, allow these cards to be shareable, able to be discussed, and tied to not only an individuals account, but also to the fight record itself. A site that has done this well is/was "Eye on The Ring", but it is a very small group and the site has/is having issues. Their layout, inter-activeness, and accessibility is awesome, and that sort of feature it all this site is missing.
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Is there a place on boxrec where they give the stats/titles of the female fighters? Like the champions tab for men? If not, I would think that would be good to have. Also, a forum category for topics pertaining to the women fighters.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Displaying each fighter's rating in the event page would be nice to have!

In addition, let users have a checklist of a sort, to track when they have watched a fight. Example, if I want to watch all of a fight card, or all of a fighter's career, and want to track those things through the site, a checklist, or ability to "check off" those fights would be awesome, and help users track the fights they've watched. I know most of these are for the more hardcore fans, but I also think some of these things could help casuals as well.

It is a great idea and we have it on the list of things to doSalTnutZ1 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2018, 10:33 Re-post, with a few additions.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
When looking up bouts by date, put the date in the <TITLE> tag, so it looks like "BoxRec: Date 2018-08-25" instead of current "BoxRec: Date", this way when you have several tabs open in the browser, you'd know what you were looking for without having to open it.

thank you

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
REMOVE all undated and no specific location bouts to wiki.....re Packy McFarland et al . They denigrate the veracity of the database...they may have happened they may point to further research...but until they have proof they should not be in.....

Don't know if allready brought up, i guess so, but would it make sense to put a timeline filter into the ratings, so you can see right away who had the better record in a specific time-range?

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
On fighter profiles, it lists a fighter's age next to their birthdate for active fighters only.
I see no reason not to do this for inactive fighters also.
I'd like to be able to see Floyd Mayweather's age straight away, rather than having to calculate it from his birthdate.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Many inactive fighters in the database have likely died already, even though no date of death has been recorded. If we were to apply your method, this fighter for instance would be listed as a 124-year old which I don't think he is.pugilisticspecialist wrote: ↑25 Sep 2018, 13:31 On fighter profiles, it lists a fighter's age next to their birthdate for active fighters only.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Can we change the champions page to have the four major sanctioning bodies belts shown so it is easier to distinguish who is the undisputed champion of that division plus the lineal Champion and have smaller belts off to the side plus how long they have reigned champion would be nice. Example:
Heavyweights:
Boxrecs champion:
Anthony Joshua
Lineal Champion:
Tyson Fury
Since 28/11/15
WBA Super Champion:
Anthony Joshua
29/04/17 defended 3 times
WBC Champion:
Deontay Wilder
17/01/15 defended 7 times
IBF Champion:
Anthony Joshua
09/04/16 Defended 6 times
WBO Champion:
Anthony Joshua
31/03/18 defended 1 times
Other Champions:
WBA Regular Champion: Manual Charr
WBA interim Champion Trevor Bryan
The Ring Champion: Vacant

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Is that true? DQs should be the same as TKOs really. The bookies treat it as such.astradamus wrote: ↑30 Sep 2018, 04:17 Could you count a disqualification as a KO instead of a point win? I think that would be a lot more fair to guys like Efe Ajagba for example. I mean, a KO in the first round is considered as the best you can do, but if you got an opponent who ruins a perfect KO record by simply walking out of the ring, then what can you do about it? I feel sad that KO records get ruined this way.

Whatever the bookies might say, in recordkeeping DQ's have never been listed as stoppage wins.RKY wrote: ↑08 Oct 2018, 14:08Is that true? DQs should be the same as TKOs really. Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
I can see both sides of this, the boxer didn't make it to the end but it was more of his doing than his opponents ? For example there are lots of boxers who have a single DQ losses for hitting an opponent when down, should that be counted as a KO loss ?
