PHILADELPHIA, PENN / CHICAGO, ILL. (October 11, 2018)-This Saturday, 2015 Boxcino Heavyweight champion, Andrey Fedosov (30-3, 25 KOs) will take on tough Joey Dawejko in a 10-round bout in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
This will be Fedosov's 2nd bout in the past four months after he defeated Francisco Mireles in the 1st round on June 30th in Phoenix, Arizona.
"I have been hearing that Joey has been talking a lot on social media that he was going to knock me out, but on Saturday, he will find out that he is barking up the wrong tree," said Fedosov.
The 32 year-old Fedosov will return to his home country of Russia for the 1st time in 10 years when he steps into the ring at the Ekaterinburg Expo.
"I am very excited to be once-again fighting in Russia. It has been a while. I have a lot of family and friends who will be there and have not seen me fight in person for a long time, so I know that I can not fail them."
With a win over the tough Dawejko, who was a former world amateur champion himself, Fedosov will once-again establish himself as one of the top heavyweights in the world, and will look for the biggest names in the division.
"I believe that I am one of the top heavyweights in the world right now. I just need that opportunity to fight one of the top guys to prove that I belong there. After this fight, I feel that I will get that opportunity."
"This is a good step up for Andrey in his comeback, This is a big deal for him to be fighting in Russia on Match TV. After this fight, there will be big opportunities for Andrey," said Matthew Rowland, Vice-President of Banner Promotions, who along with Hitz Boxing, co-promotes Fedosov.
"We look forward to seeing Andrey fight on Saturday," Said Bobny Hitz, President of Hitz Boxing. "He is in there with a good opponent in Dawejko, who is battle tested, so when Andrey wins on Saturday, it will serve notice to the rest of the heavyweight division that he is a contender for big fights."
"It's a great fight for Andrey. Dawejko believes that he will win the fight. Andrey can't wait to meet him in the center of the ring. It will be a real exciting fight," said Fedosov's manager, Andrew Zak.
The fight will be aired live in Russia on Match TV.

Andrey Fedosov - Joey Dawejko This sat in Russia
Re: Andrey Fedosov - Joey Dawejko This sat in Russia
That's a good crossroads fight.
Currently, Dawejko's best win is Derrick Rossy (and a draw against a very inexperienced Jarrell Miller). Fedosov's best wins are Mo Harris and Darnell Wilson. It will be close to a career best win for either fighter. It is also fairly evenly matched.

Dawejko will probably win but the odds of actually getting a decision there are obviously zero.
Re: Andrey Fedosov - Joey Dawejko This sat in Russia
really? id think fedosov should win legit
joeys got a good chins and wins some rounds but is almost never in condition to do enough to beat decent guys, and all the draws are a sign of a guy who struggles to put things beyond doubt even when hes the a side

Fedosov has been out for a long time...if he's fit he should win possibly by late stoppage.

Re: Andrey Fedosov - Joey Dawejko This sat in Russia
This should be a good fight. I'm going to be sure to tune into the card early enough on DAZN tomorrow to catch it.
I'd like to see Dawejko finally rise to the occasion to get the good career-defining win under his belt that eluded him against both Amir Mansour & Bryant Jennings but it's going to be tough for him to do in his opponent's home country. Fedosov is a tough, rugged guy but he is coming off of a long layoff aside from a recent first-round KO over a mediocre opponent in his return. Maybe Dawejko will be able to take advantage of Fedosov's ring rust. We shall see.

Well, Joey lost another one. He just can't seem to turn the corner when it comes to mixing with a next level opponent.
I hate to say it but Dawejko seems destined to fill the role of a journeyman/occasional spoiler. Nothing more.
As for Fedosov, this is a good solid win back for him. Now, he's either got to string together a series of wins just like this one or he's got to take a step up & face someone rated ahead of him to see if he can regain the world ranking that he had prior to his long layoff.

In his second fight for more than two years, still not overly aged (at 32) Russian heavyweight Andrey Fedosov scored a solid win over American gatekeeper Joey Dawejko (19-6-4, 11 KOs), 28. Fedosov scored a unanimous decision over ten rounds.
Dawejko has lost his second consecutive fight, losing before to Bryant Jennings in May. Meanwhile, Fedosov came back after a long period of inactivity with the first-round blowout of familiar foe in Francisco Mireles. He is on a good streak (7-0, 6 KOs) since losing to Jennings in 2013. Fedosov's overall record is 31-3, 25 KOs.
