allegedly has another new Heavyweight - Naylor Ball

Post by Dwayne Rudenkoslav »

He's only 20. Cousin of Jake Ball. He's a big guy with a decent amateur record. Makes his debut in February on the Jay Harris bill. Warren definitely is going into the heavyweight market hard with this new BT deal. Has anyone seen this guy? know much about him?

White guy from the Southern Counties. There's an amateur fight on YouTube where he loses on points. He starts fast, throwing combos, goes to the body, has head movement, feints. I'm watching this thinking if he can maintain a work rate like this for a heavyweight he will be interesting at least.

But the other dude is backing him up and still catching him with decent shots.

I got bored and skipped to the last round.

Ball is knackered and has shot his bolt. The other dude is bashing him around. Neither looks hurt, so unless there is a KD in the part I skipped, neither have devestating power.

They go to points. Ball's body language says he knows he blew it and has lost. They raise the hand of the other lad.

Just an amateur fight and you can lose those: it's OK. That's how you learn, right?

He didn't strike me as anything special.

I'm assuming he is a giant

He's tall and quite gangly, but only a pup. Difficult to predict how far an am can go at the best of times, unless they are obviously special, and it's even harder to predict how the big boys will fare. Everyone likes a heavyweight prospect though don't they!? At the very least it'll be interesting to see how he gets on. Good luck to the lad. :TU:

Who else has he picked up recently?

I saw an interview with a big amateur lad on Buncey, can't remember the lads name.

What is his amateur record - number of fights etc.?

Unless Fwank has offered a mega money deal for some reason, it would do no harm for someone of his age and size to spend a few more years getting as many amateur bouts as possible and trying to win the ABA's and get on the funding programme.

He seems less active than he was I suspect a lot don't want to fight him.

ya he can fight no doubt, got a lot of respect for soko. although ya, like suggested this type of thing may turn off some teams from brinigng him in as an opponent, of 19 fights hes 7-12 in terms of not losing/losing , so hes much more risky then the standard uk journeyman type on the scene

shame i cant find pretty much anything about this fight. wouldve love to see it or at least read what happened!

gorman stopping soko looks really nice (as well as easily/quickly stopping a guy who went full 8 with hrgovic)
