I'm choosing Ron Lyle in an upset KO in five or six rounds. I think Lyle's size advantage & power wears Frazier down with heavy punishment & ends things with knockdowns along the ropes leading to a referee's stoppage.

A past his prime Jimmy Ellis went 12 rounds with Ron Lyle in 1974, but Lyle won the decision. It's Frazier for me.

Frazier could be past prime, but he was still there for sure. I'm with Smokin' Joe.

Never understood the Frazier was" past his prime" stuff. There isn't much evidence of that. He was simply a better fighter than Lyle. Lyle would have given him a lot of trouble, but eventually Frazier wins this. Probably a late stoppage. Would have been fun to watch.

I strongly agree. As great as Ron Lyle, "Smokin" Joe Frazier accomplished more and he would still pressure Lyle then knocked him down with a big left hook in the late rounds. Lyle would fight for survival from Frazier's big left hooks and Frazier would take a decision in 15 rounds.
