Also don’t know why people mention Chisora vs. Takam as a potential. It was a crap fight, all Chisora did was KO Takam after taking a beating against the ropes.

I was going to post a poll but I do not want to prejudice the thread.

 Was waiting for the Usyk nomination. Nobody is close after he defeats Bellew. He is a shoe-in.

Usyk vs Briedis and Gassiev vs Dorticos from the WBSS semis were great.

Both excellent nominees. Usyk vs Briedis was more competitive than most expected. Usyk had his hands full in that one.

Think Gassiev vs Dorticos got credited as being a better fight, probably because of the finish, but I thought Usyk vs Briedis was better because of how back and forth it was. Both crackers though.

Will have to watch KImura-Tanaka at some point and other nominations as they come in, but Canelo-GGG II was the best fight I've seen so far this year (that I can think of) - great mixture of technique and brutality, far more exciting than their first fight. Still think Golovkin should have got something from the judges (not to derail the thread) but the fight itself was excellent.

Hard to look past Usyk for Fighter of the year. This may ruffle some feathers but Deontay Wilder could be a decent candidate for #2 if he can overcome Fury in December in a decisive or at least memorable way. Not that many other good options out there otherwise (again, unless I'm forgetting someone).

Inoue-Payano has to be in the mix for KO of the year.

Usyk or Munguia are the obvious ones there, Kenshiro has had an under rated year,

linares vs loma was good

as for fighter of the year, it depends on what happens.....i think usyk and wilder are the top 2 candidates if they both win. i think usyk having 3 wins instead of 2 could push him past wilder. also thats some impressive road warrior stuff if he gets those 3 wins all in his opponents backyards

inoue is also already a candidate and loma too if he beats pedraza. aj will also have had a strong year unifying vs parker then stopping povetkin, but i feel it really comes down to usyk and wilder if they both win

Canelo vs GGG II is definitely right there. I also would throw Kovalev vs Alvarez, and Stevenson vs Jack in there.

Loma vs Linares was a good call too.

FOTY for me were Gassieve vs Dorticos and Wilder vs Ortiz due to action and results.

For the fighter of the year Usyk is the front runner. But we know that if Canelo will win his December match he's also capable of winning fighter of the year because he beat pound for pound #2 or 3 GGG.

Whyte vs Parker is FOTY with GGG vs Canelo 2 not too far behind.

Christmas came early for Canelo, again.

I liked Gassiev vs Dorticos and Wilder vs Ortiz. Good nominations.

Wilder vs Ortiz. High drama. Lights out ending

Jaime Munguia. I know he won't win. The scalps aren't big enough names.

But I like the idea of giving the honor to a champion who actually fights. Maybe 5 bouts this year.

Most champs nowdays go on a year ending sabbatical after 2 fights

Munguia actually puts the word "fighter" back into Fighter of the Year.

I can't pick one, but a top 3
Postol Taylor
Loma Linares
Smith Groves

Fury Wilder could be great- or
Bellew Usyk if it doesn't end early.

If Parker had KO power he would be the biggest badass in boxing since Marquez. He has the best chin in the sport at the moment and I'm sure he beats Wilder.
