if Crawford cleans out the welterweight division..

Post by phillykid »

where would you rank him in your ATG list?

this obviously includes Crawford hypothetically beating Spence in a future match of course.

I definitely think completely conquering two divisions is a good argument for any fighter to be ranked in the ATG list, especially if one of those divisions is the welterweight division.

If it includes victories over Spence and Porter and Thurman and Mikey and Danny and Brook or any three including Spence, I would have no choice.

Bud would be a consensus ATG.

Of course, that'll be a helluva achievement in the terms of ATG rankings. And he actually can do it, the biggest drawbacks are in the matchmaking, contract issues and etc.

Far too early to even consider.

It's unlikely that Crawford will even have the opportunity to swap punches with the PBC fighters.

Maybe the Spence fight will go down once the mainstream interest develops and the money is right.

The Crawford who posed with Benavides last night doesn't look like he would wipe out the welterweight division if he had the chance.

He certainly wouldn't beat Spence.

but you do you agree that if he pulls this off somehow that he belongs on the ATG list somewhere, yes?

I agree he may very well struggle with some of the Top welters, but if he pulls this off i may have to place him ahead of Floyd and Pac in my ATG list.

Bob Arum is unwilling to fund the paydays that PBC fighters are accustomed to and Crawford's lack of personality is too bland to gain mainstream popularity to the point he'll become a genuine PPV star.

Basically, Top Rank is flatly-refusing to fund the opportunities that Crawford requires to "clean out the welterweight division", so it won't happen... EVER!

Once again I agree with you.... Has hell frozen over EO?????
As much as I like Crawford he has a bland personality, and he dominates his competition in a boring fashion.

Not 100% sure on that. The only true advantage Spence has over Bud is his power. Speed, quickness, Skill, and defense is all Bud.
