Apparently he didn’t know there was a live person in that suit. Which is dumb really.

By way of compensation he invited his victim to his next boxing matcn. Wow too generous. I hope his victim sues him for everything he's got. I also hope that Fury gets rid of this oh so carefully protected hype job.

The article suggests Wilder was asked to show off his power by hitting the mascot? If that’s the case, no-one can complain if the guy inside got hurt.

Anyway, it’s always funny to see someone in a stupid costume get laid out, so I’m glad this happened and I got to watch it.

The idea of the show is stupid and dangerous as it showed to be. They should've put Wilder to hit with his bare knuckles full power the head of this fellow if they wanted to be so original!

Even Wilder should've been thinking that inside of that silly costume is a normal human being. The show hosts probably told him that inside of that costume is Donkey's ol' foe Charlie Zelenoff. :verysad:

Actually he should be arrested for felonious assault. He could have killed the unsuspecting guy in the costume.

WBC sanctioned it as another voluntary defence? 41-0 now?

Yes, the producers will need to answer a few questions. People in TV land sometimes seem to live in a different world.

As if this whole thing wasn't planned and discussed ahead of time.

I question whether anyone was hurt. Just staged publicity for the Fury fight.

If that's the case all well and good, but if he really did sucker punch a guy in a costume because somebody told him to show how strong he is then he should be arrested for felonious assault + sued by his victim.

It'll be just "great", if Wilder gets sued, charged, DQed or something like that and Fury fight gets cancelled. I guess, after that we all will go to beat up every mascot we'll be able to find.

I don't believe it was real at all.

On these kind of shows, they go over these little vignettes ahead of time.

Wilder and the mascot knew that a punch was going to be thrown.

About as authentic as those pressers with Fury.

Before this i had nothing against Wilder personally, just his deep pocket handlers and all their bs to move him along. But now yeah i don't like him. Did you people watch the video of the incident? It sure looks like he hit the poor guy in the head as hard as he could.

Good to hear he’s not hurt. Get a sense of humour if you don’t find that clip funny.
