Anthony Yarde vs. Walter Gabriel Sequeira - 20 October 2018
Anthony Yarde will be back in the ring in less than three weeks’ time.
The undefeated light-heavyweight, who holds a lofty position in the WBO rankings, was most recently in action in June and holds a record of 16-0 with all but one coming inside the distance.
And he will fight on BT Sport again on October 20 at the Brentwood Centre in Essex.
The Ilford man, nicknamed ‘The Beast’, is set to defend his WBO Inter-Continental title against Argentina’s Walter Gabriel Sequeira (21-4, 15 KOs) at the top of a card being promoted by FranWarren.
Sequeira, 31, was last in action in April when he retained his Argentinian title with a sixth-round stoppage of Gaston Alejandro Vega.
Also on the card, there will be action for the Joe Mullender, whose last outing came against Lee Churcher for the vacant IBF European middleweight title last December, and the vacant British title will be at stake when welterweight pair Johnny Garton and Gary Corcoran square off.
Bradley Skeete, the man who recently relinquished the Lonsdale belt but was stopped inside two rounds when he challenged Kerman Lejarraga for the vacant European welterweight belt back in April, will return on the bill, while there is a super-middleweight contest between rivals Umar Sadiq and Zak Chelli set.
Further details regarding the card will be revealed in due course.

Garton the Millwall fanatic against traveller Corcoran. In the words of the Kaiser Chiefs, “I predict a riot”...in the seats.

Don't know much about Sequeira but Yarde deserves better than this, guys a talent but Warren seems to be intent of bringing him through 90s style
Re: Anthony Yarde vs. Walter Gabriel Sequeira - 20 October 2018
It makes you wonder why they are moving him so slowly .handsofstone wrote: ↑30 Sep 2018, 15:46 Don't know much about Sequeira but Yarde deserves better than this, guys a talent but Warren seems to be intent of bringing him through 90s style
Maybe lack of amateur experience ?

Could be mate but IMO on the eye test, he can be moved along faster than this, all this treading water isn't good for him or his pulling power( or brand as one Essex promoter calls it)rd350lc wrote: ↑30 Sep 2018, 15:52It makes you wonder why they are moving him so slowly .handsofstone wrote: ↑30 Sep 2018, 15:46 Don't know much about Sequeira but Yarde deserves better than this, guys a talent but Warren seems to be intent of bringing him through 90s style

Don't know what this fella is like , but would have thought Buglioni or even Burton would fill more seats .handsofstone wrote: ↑30 Sep 2018, 15:55Could be mate but IMO on the eye test, he can be moved along faster than this, all this treading water isn't good for him or his pulling power( or brand as one Essex promoter calls it)rd350lc wrote: ↑30 Sep 2018, 15:52It makes you wonder why they are moving him so slowly .handsofstone wrote: ↑30 Sep 2018, 15:46 Don't know much about Sequeira but Yarde deserves better than this, guys a talent but Warren seems to be intent of bringing him through 90s style

Re: Anthony Yarde vs. Walter Gabriel Sequeira - 20 October 2018
That's the weird thing, isn't it?
Yarde is completely avoiding any domestic challengers. Not that I blame him, I'm sure he doesn't pick these guys, he probably hasn't heard of Sequeira either
Re: Anthony Yarde vs. Walter Gabriel Sequeira - 20 October 2018
Needs to be careful, I and assuming others are losing interest in his career.
I knew he was boxing on 20th but wasnt even bothered to check who he was against as I knew I would have to boxrec his opponent.
Doesn't seem to be stepping up at all even though he is looking comfortable at this level.

Is this fight top of the card? Dubois not featuring? Seems to have been quiet with these 2 seems like they haven't fought in ages
Re: Anthony Yarde vs. Walter Gabriel Sequeira - 20 October 2018
boring, he should be fighting at clear euro level now, someone like dominic bosel or karo murat or igor mikhalkin or umar salamov, or a guy like edwin rodriguez or maybe caparello or chilemba
Re: Anthony Yarde vs. Walter Gabriel Sequeira - 20 October 2018
i think some of the guys he fought are just as good if not better then the likes of buglioni, burton, ball etc....they just werent british
a guy like burton has never won above miles shinkwin level, so i dont really knock yarde for fighting other guys instead, like a guy who had drawn for the 175 ebu right before

Jam, you mention Burton-Shinkwin about five times a week! Is it your favourite fight?jamamb wrote: ↑30 Sep 2018, 17:03 i think some of the guys he fought are just as good if not better then the likes of buglioni, burton, ball etc....they just werent british

Will be there to watch Garton, and Garton only. I like Yarde a lot but this shitstorm of poor show after poor show is becoming a circus. He needs pushing.
Re: Anthony Yarde vs. Walter Gabriel Sequeira - 20 October 2018
its true i bring it up a lot, prob annoying as eff, but tbf i do it because other ppl keep bringing up the same thing about him supposedly not having even fought at british level and needing to fight guys like hos, and i think its worth pointing out that burts best result doesnt place him any higher really then multiple of the guys yardes faced
but yarde hs been due some fights of at least clear ebu level or fringe world level and a guy like this opponent is really disappointing and hard to keep interest in yarde with stuff like this. i love his aggressive style and ko performances but this is just stale with a guy like this

Really poor fight and a bit of a joke headliner for a BT Sports show.
Yarde should be matched against more brits. Yes - guys like Hosea Burton/Jake Ball/Frank Buglioni may not have big wins themselves but there would be far more interest in those fights than his recent ones and there would be no question that they’d be coming to win.

Had a gander at Sequeira's record, apart from the loss to Yildirim he's fought no one, I rate Yarde but his matchmaking is pretty poor, the Sjecloca and Averlant wins were solid but he needs a stand out win, this wont be it, I expect Yarde to take care of this guy early

Terrible fight, nothing but another pad for an already padded record.
Re: Anthony Yarde vs. Walter Gabriel Sequeira - 20 October 2018
its obviously a weak fight
Re: Anthony Yarde vs. Walter Gabriel Sequeira - 20 October 2018
It's not just that, it's the fact we have actually seen these guys fight. If he fights Bugsy, and wins, I will know where he is at, same with fighting Burton. I don't know who Sequeria ismaverick23 wrote: ↑08 Oct 2018, 05:30 Really poor fight and a bit of a joke headliner for a BT Sports show.

I don't know who he has lost to either. I have seen quite a few Argentina only fighters come out of there for he first time and be total rubbish.
