do you ever have days with too much boxing?
do you ever have days with too much boxing?
just wondering if anyone else has this
sometimes, when theres a really loaded saturday with fights, i basically spend all day glued to the computer or tv, going back and forth between fights with little break, and by the end of the day/early morning i have a big head ache and feel exhausted , like ive accomplished nothing else i wanted to do, and question if it was worth it. especially if theres a sh!t fight or bs result.
maybe i need to record some fights and just watch them next day or two
anyone else get this?

I'm retired. So I really don't have much of a life. So never too much boxing or boxing forums.
It keeps me busy

Re: do you ever have days with too much boxing?
I record inconsequential fights- like a lot of those Mouldy Boy ones where you pretty much know who will win, then I watch them over Christmas/January while boxing takes a break. During that time I can watch lesser fights which I may skip over during a busy weekend.
Some of the bigger fights I may watch live, mostly I record all of them so I can skip the dead air. Life's too short waiting half an hour after an early KO for the next one- I drink a lot less too

It is frustrating when they pack a load of fights into a single weekend yet there are other weekends with no boxing at all.
If promoters gave a crap about fans they would spread them out a bit more, rather than trying to compete with eachother for the same dates.

Exactly what I do! (when its stacked)
Re: do you ever have days with too much boxing?
I watch as much as I can, record what I can't watch at the time, and look at BS at least once a day

I'm the same, I wont complain about too much boxing but whenever I get some downtime I'm either watching the weekends fights or on here, if I haven't caught up with all the action then I cant come on here really so I try and get it watched ASAP, I usually like to get up early sunday and catch up before the rest of house is awake
Re: do you ever have days with too much boxing?
Yeah, sometimes there are boxing-weekends. And other times I can watch/rewatch old fights all day long.
Re: do you ever have days with too much boxing?
Can't beat setting down with a cup of tea and watching a classic fight

Re: do you ever have days with too much boxing?
Only when I try to get home from bar in the night
On more serious note there rarely is too much good boxing. Somehow the big fights tent to clump together and there is huge gaps in between when nothing happens.
Maybe I need to start watching more of the little guys fighting?

Still the good days of thrilling fights and big wins make up for it

Rarely (my mrs would disagree), a busy weekend full of crap fights can be challenging but otherwise its more the merrier, my mrs does a lot of work at home during the week so can be stuck in her workshop in the attic quite a bit so that's when I watch the older fights that ive never got round to watching before.

The last few weekends have been killer, October 6th and 7th were draining with the 2 Japanese cards and the Thai card on top of the western stuff
Seem to remember 4 successive days of televised / online fights on September too

Re: do you ever have days with too much boxing?
On Saturday night there’s 3 live shows all being broadcast at the same time in the UK - Sky, Channel 5 and S4C. There’s also an international card being shown a few hours later by Sky.
I reckon that constitutes a day with too much boxing, I’ll have to miss a lot of it as rubbish TalkTalk boxes are limited in how much they can record at once.

There was a time were there was 2 cards in the UK, that I was interested in and then late night, Showtime and HBO went head to head.
Sometimes in the UK, you have a card on Sky, BN, then Channel 5 pops out and has a show on too. Then you get the odd Friday cards on TV.
This pat Saturday just gone, there was a lot of boxing Imo.

Yeah all time that's great thing about the internet . Just avoid result and watch the fights at your leisure. Though I get behind on boxing by about 3 weeks trying to adovid resultsjamamb wrote: ↑15 Oct 2018, 20:20 just wondering if anyone else has this

I often think about this on Sundays an wonder if it were possible to have a "Is it worth watching" thread? No spoilers but a simple yes or no or even rate it out of ten and nothing else. The result isnt given away and youre only getting the fights that are worth your time.

I genuinely haven't missed a televised fight in about nearly 15 years including undercards bar the occasional undercard fight, I'm a bit OCD when it comes to boxing so always make sure I catch everything although I don't watch many streamed cards
