It’s a shame they’ve all fallen out. The Furys are a formidable unit when they are one. Their actions in Düsseldorf proved it. I wonder how many others were brow beaten by the Klits, made to accept their demands etc. The Fury’s refused and got a lot of things changed back didn’t they?

Maybe some of their problems lie on Peter not being able to be in the corner should Tyson fight in the states.

I was like other posters believing the new guy Ben someone would get Tyson fighting fit then his uncle would come back in.

It's hard to imagine the new trainer is anything more than a paid 'yes man'.
There's not even any proof that he's competent is there ?

Considering Fury lost 130+ pounds as fast as he did and easily beat two stiffs, is at the very least the sure telltale sign that his new trainer is competent (at least in terms of conditioning), and Fury (like Ali) doesn't need much (if any) pointers on what to do in that ring because he's his own style. Why fix what isn't broke?

I'm not saying he's incompetent - but if it ain't broke, then why leave Uncle Peter in the first place ?

There is a rumor..... though unsubstantiated.... that while Tyson was in the midst of depression, and having potential divorce talks with his wife.... that Hughie Fury became the shoulder to cry on for Paris, and that (allegedly) is the reason for the continental shift in the family.

I don't know if I believe it, considering Tyson did show up in support of Hughie in his title bid against Parker--- then again--- Tyson was very complimentary, friendly, etc with Parker during that time which made people think Tyson was actually supporting him rather than his cousin, etc.

These things get thrown around and probably have no truth to it--- it could very well be that Peter simply "washed his hands" of his own nephew because he felt Tyson wasted his time with the Klitschko rematch going down the tubes, the failed drug test, the cocaine habit, the massive weight gain, not taking things seriously as he should have, etc.

Yet Ali still had a hall of fame trainer in his corner.

How will this guy get his message through to Tyson, when things aren't going right?

In all there pads videos, Tyson is showing signs of bad habits, low guard, telegraphing his jab. Uncle Peter had Tyson fighting in a way that was perfect for his style, how will Ben get Tyson into that style after 3 fights?

Even Angelo Dundee said he didn't teach Ali anything. He simply just made sure he trained. :maybe: If Fury loses because of technical flaws, conditioning issues, etc. its effectively all on him--- period--- but then again maybe losing would be the best thing for him because one can argue Ali proved just how "great" he actually was after losing to Frazier and having to rebuild his style.

I don't know anything , i'm just like the rest of you an internet gossip , who gossips to pass the time ,, but for my two pennyworth , i think the writing was on the wall when his dad got out of jail , Peter had trained Tyson up to world champ level , the dad got out of jail and straight away got involved , he became very vocal out of the gym , loved the limelight and kugan interviews , my son this , my son that , he was becoming a bigger star than Tyson , god knows what he was like in the gym ,

Peter on the other hand is very astute , a good trainer does'nt rant and rave with bulging eyes, trying to convince the world he's a big bad man , and is used to being captain of the ship , along comes his brother who wants joint captaincy , it was never ever gonna work ,,, Think about it would any of you as a trainer, coach a lad ,and then when they were succesful let the father take over , , I know myself on many many occasions , i have told fathers , keep your nose out , or take your boy elsewhere , and were not even talking world champion level , my guess is Peter done the job , then along comes his brother sticking his nose in , at the same time , Tyson is enjoying his wealth , snorting coke , going on booze binges , pulling out of fights ,definetly not acting like a seasoned profesional world champ athlete , , more like a football yob ,

And Peter just said fook it i'm out of here , i'm gonna train my own son to do what Tyson has done , and guess what , i think in another 4-5 years Hughie probably will be world champ , i think Hughie is just turning out to be a slow maturer , give him time , and he'll develop some spite to go with his good skills . and whats more a few losses along the way will not hurt him

I prefer Henry's story that Hughie banged Paris and Tyson took Parker out on the piss to congratulate him on bashing his traitor cousin. It might not be true but its Eastenders enough for me.

Personally I think Tyson is annoyed with Peter for getting him involved with PEDs, convincing him he needed it to be elite and wouldn't get caught, and then embarrassing him when he did.

All speculation.

All said and done, I hope Tyson beats Wilder and good luck to the big fella.

Maybe. Would feel sorry for him if he hadn’t messed around various fighters himself with pull outs and excuses himself though. He didn’t want any part of Wlad in the rematch.

This piece AND your other piece... :stop:
It's.... it's coherent, it's logical, it's evidence-based, cogent, intelligent even.
You don't troll anyone, go off on insane tangents and you're talking.., incisive common-sense. :o
You're rooted in reality !

I'm speechless.
I've never heard you talk about boxing before - maybe stick to boxing, and stay off "Off Topic" ;-)

What rumours ? Where ? Paris ( heh-heh :OhYes: ) ?
I want to hear more of your insights... :KO:

Fury turned up looking for sparring, looking to beat up on smaller guys. Grant jumped in, he didn't care for no one, ended up hammering Fury and Fury jumped out.
Then he starts saying that he wasn't fit/injured etc and could hammer Grant on the cobbles if he wanted
So they went outside in the pouring rain but by the time Grant got his top off Fury had legged it to the car and sped away complaining he had just had a baby
