Ryota Murata, the fighting pride of Japan, will take his world championship show on the road to the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Murata will make the second defense of his WBA middleweight world title against Rob “Bravo” Brant on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Park Theater.

Promoted by Top Rank, in association with Teiken Promotions and Greg Cohen Promotions, ticket information for this world championship event will be announced shortly.

Arum is just using Murata to cash out in future.

Arum acts like a dictator for the boxers he promotes. Unless he adds in a clause on contracts that he has some sort of advisory role. I don't like how Arum handles his boys.

Tickets for Murata’s WBA middleweight world title defense against Rob “Bravo” Brant on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Park Theater at Park MGM go on sale TODAY at 10 a.m. PST. The event is promoted by Top Rank, in association with Teiken Promotions and Greg Cohen Promotions.

Tickets are priced at $204, $104, $54 and $29, not including taxes and handling fees, and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets or online at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets also can be purchased through the MGM Resorts International Call Center at 877-795-2564.

Golovkin Promoter Will Be Ringside For Murata vs. Brant Clash

Tom Loeffler, who represents former unified middleweight champion, Gennady Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KOs).

"I'll be there, I'm flying up for the fight," he told BS.com on Wednesday afternoon.

Should Murata come out victorious, there is the possibility for the popular Japanese fighter to face 'GGG' in 2019.

"We have a very good relationship with Mr.(Akihiko) Honda and also with Top Rank and Bob Arum."

Teiken Promotions is the lead promoter for Murata with Top Rank intimately involved.

"That seems like a natural fight for Gennady," continued Loeffler,"Gennady has fought all over the world. If that fight were to happen in Japan, Murata is a fighter that has done some great things. The Japanese boxing market is having a renaissance because Murata gets monster TV ratings in Japan, sells out arena's there."

Golovkin is now a network free agent after his contract with HBO expired last month. HBO has since announced their intention to drop boxing by the end of the year.

Loeffler points out that Golovkin fights have been televised in Japan for years and is already a well-known quantity in that country.

Arum made it clear that in,"talking with Mr. Honda and his group, they want to do that fight."

Should Murata defeat Brant, ''then it would be between Honda and Loeffler," Arum added.

As for where Golovkin-Murata would take place, Arum stated, "Nothing has to happen anywhere but I would think it would be a big event in the United States but it would be a humongous event in Japan in the Tokyo Dome."

brant was awful in that fight and lost every round imo. totally outclassed. it may be a different story at mw, but i really dont find any other redeeming aspect of his performance vs brahmer, whatever the germs face looked like after

Ryota Murata (14-1, 11 KOs) weighed in at 159.2 pounds for his title defense of his WBA World super middleweight champion Rob Brant (23-1, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at the Park Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada.


Brant, 28, weighed in at 158.4 lbs. Brant looked a little intimidated during the face off with the 2012 Olympic gold medalist Murata.

Even so, he probably got a career high purse just fighting in the 1/4 finals.

Brant lost but every round was close and he landed the more hurtful punches. After the fight Brähmer didn't look at all like the winner, he was cut and bruised and ready to hang them gloves for good...

I think Brant will give Murata a tough fight. He should.

In regard to Braehmer's face. Some boxers bruise quickly and more easily than others. I don't pay too much attention to it, unless the face is a bloody crimson mask.

He was competitive though. The scorecards being wide didn't do him any favours. Had some close rounds gone to him, and we saw 116-112 scores, we would give Brant more credit.
